Anyone can go there and join a free learn-to-row day which happens four or more times per year, and, the indoor rowing has free classes for newbies almost every week. Where else can you have the incredible freedom of being human powered on the water with lots of experience and coaching help to get you comfortable in a boat. They start out in a training barge and then progress to wide stable sculling boats called Zephyrs. The longer you are rowing the more you will progress until you are in a racing shell that is barely as wide as your bottom and moves like a waterbug on steroids.

It set the tone for what ended up being a very uncomfortable meal. The organization of the brunch was extremely poor. All tables were seated and then released at the same time, which created complete chaos. There was no direction, no clear flow, and no communication. Two lines formed for the buffet, but there wasn't nearly enough space to accommodate everyone. At the carving station, both lines collided and people had to awkwardly cross over each other just to access different items. The food itself was also underwhelming. Several of the vegetables were undercooked, and overall the quality did not meet expectations for a holiday brunch. To add to the frustration, I asked for milk for my mom's coffee (she can't have cream), and after about 10 minutes, we were told there was no milk anywhere in the building. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience--especially for a special occasion like Easter. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

The town put in 22 additional slips for boats of 30 and 40 feet, and has transient reservations for 35 slips and 17 moorings. Did I mention the brand new Fuel Dock? The total is now 180-plus residential dock spaces, some of which are used by commercial fishermen and other working boats. It super conveniently located, the dock is right in the heart of the town, and a quick walk to some great shops and restaurants. Really great resource for RI boaters. A+

David and Laura went out of their way to make our day a very special one. The staff could not have been any nicer.
