When I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff. I was able to get a cup of coffee and relax while we transacted. I was selling gold, silver, and coins. It was a mixed bag of U.S. and foreign money along with the gold and silver. I did a lot of shopping around and the fact that they offered me the hands-down, best price brought me into the shop. This place is a pretty cool store once you go inside. This shop has been in the neighborhood for quite some time and I just happened to stop in after grabbing a coffee next door. The staff is genuinely friendly and everyone looks very busy helping customers in person & by phone. Overall, they have a ton of coins and collectibles for sale. They allow you to browse through at your convenience. And it's fun to check out the vintage memorabilia displayed on the top shelves and back wall which are not actually for sale. Because they do not have a "contact us" email address listed, I contacted them through their eBay user name. They responded with an offer to buy my silver at $8.50 per face dollar. I replied, telling them that I had two other offers, both around $9.50 per face dollar and asking if they would match these offers. It appears that they retaliated against me by reporting my eBay message to them. I just received a warning from eBay, citing that first message. Not only are their offers to buy too low; but, their indiscretion in so far as reporting me to eBay is just poor business practice. If you have silver for sale, there are many better buyers than Edgewood Coin Shop. read more

I was looking for a silver dollar at the last minute. I underestimated the amount of traffic heading into Jacksonville and didn't think that I was going to make it to the store in time. I called the store to ask if they would recommend someplace closer to Middleburg since I would not be able to make it to the store prior to closing that day. The woman who was on the phone told me they would stay open an extra hour and let me in as long as I made it in that time frame. I made it, I got my coin, and all was well. This is going to be a copy paste review because I already posted it on another business place. However it is truly sincere, and since I wrote so much, I am just too pooped to rewrite the review. I don't think there is a business I could possibly speak more highly of. My mother passed away leaving me a huge vase filled with silver half dollars. Since she had been collecting them for my entire life, (I am 73) I decided to continue to hold them. I do believe that the metals are going to continue to increase in value. My daughter had an accident and lost her front teeth. The replacement of them was in the thousands of dollars. I called several "We buy and sell gold/silver coins" places. I was discouraged because the price they offered was not the daily price listed on the internet. I called Sarah at Edgewood Coin Shop and she offered me almost $4.00 more on every coin and offered to go through and pay me by grade. I was more than satisfied and grateful for what I was paid. I would go and give her a five-star rating everywhere except Facebook keeps popping up wanting me to sign in to comment, and I don't want all my business to be posted to my Facebook page. I am a real person, unpaid, and a genuine customer. My mother truly loved her silver half-dollar collection, she always said someday it would save her family. She believed if you loved and were grateful for your possessions when you passed them on the good fortune would stay with them. So my wish is for anyone buying my mother's silver from Sarah or any of the other antique jewelry pieces that you'll benefit from the joy that was given on the original gift.
