They upsell you on services you don't need, I walked in and in the waiting area there was a patient and staff member taking about personal information that could have been done at the front desk, not in front of other patients. they send you an appointment reminder saying to text them back and confirm your appointment, but if you tell them you need to reschedule, they pick a random date and time FOR you and schedule it. without asking if that date/time works for you. no checking if thats okay or letting you call and make the new appointment yourself, like normal offices do. when I showed up for my scheduled cleaning, they had me wait for over 30 minutes even though they weren't busy. just as I was about to walk out, they call me back and a dentist comes in and pokes at my gums then tells me I need all this work done so she won't be doing a cleaning after all...then mentions that on top of that, they need to reschedule me to come back? zero regard for the time I just wasted sitting there for absolutely nothing or the arrangements I had to make in order to come to the appointment that they kept pushing. it wasn't impossible to do a normal cleaning that *they* scheduled me for. I'd say read the other reviews and believe them. something's definitely wrong if this many people are upset. save your time and money oh - they also stillll owe me an almost $400 refund for overcharging me in January. 9 months later. read more

Used to like this dentist but this is the second time, even with "new staffing" that I'm left having my money taken from a mistake by the doctor and miscommunication with the woman in charge of billing!! First time I had to wait 8 months to be refunded for a tooth they never extracted but still charged me for before the procedure was even done. This second time i had free credit from their previous mistake to use on sealants. The dental assistant did work on all teeth instead of just 3 free ones and accountant Adriana refused to give them for free after the doctor said it was their mistake and i shouldn't be charged. She tried to get me to get Invisalign then she would be able to suddenly drop the fee for the sealants. All she cares about is meeting her money goal for the month as you can see it posted in her desk area. She also claimed it was my fault for not recognizing that the d.a was doing something else like if I'm supposed to know how the procedure goes???? Rather than billing me and allowing me to pay when i can she used the excuse that she can't change the system and must bill me for it or she'll send it to collections. OFF OF THEIR OWN MISTAKES?! I only agreed to the 3 free sealants and now i have to pay out of my own pocket for a mistake they made by sealing all of them. Definitely will not be a returning. Sucks because the doctor is finally a nice, good one but her two front desk girls are the reason they'll be losing clients. It's no wonder "staff keeps changing" here because of their mistakes. Dishonest office ! I was blessed to catch their lying office staff after my first appointment and that's only because I work at a doctors office for insurance and could smell something fishy . I called this office and asked specifically if they were IN NETWORK with my plan before setting up an appt . They said yes we are in network .great ! Do my new patient visit - then the insurance girl comes in to go over my benefits and future costs for some fillings and additional work I need . She tends to hide her paper and gives me a very fast run down of cost and tells me I have a deductible to meet . That's my first red flag . She obviously hasn't checked my benefits to know that I've met that already . I proceed to re ask how much the filling for my next visit will be for my costs after insurance and she proceeds to tell me $90 but we have the best prices in town . Second red flag . I leave the office , schedule my appointment and make a note in my head to call my insurance to ask about my benefits discount . I call my insurance just for general benefits ( I should have double checked if they were in network then ) but I was in a rush . Anyways my insurance tells me I get a HUGE discount for fillings so I'm automatically thinking they just need to check my benefits to give me the right price . Third red flag. I call the office the next day and specifically ask the price for my visit coming up in a week and I tell them that I met my deductible and wanted to go over my out of pocket costs . She gives me the run around and keeps quoting me the same price without my deductible met . I then proceeded to tell her I called my insurance and confirmed my benefit discount and straight up ask her how much a filling is without insurance . She tells me the price and I say , that's weird 80% from that price is not what you're quoting me , you're quoting me double ! Are you in network with my insurance ? She then proceeds to say yes we take your i insurance and I'll have the insurance girl call you back . She tells me the insurance girl will call me back I never get a call . The dentist office keeps calling me to confirm my appointment- I get another woman on the line and she confirms my appointment and I proceed to ask her , I'm still waiting on the insurance lady to call me , is she going to call? She starts to Help me and goes over all the prices but very very rushed and is not giving me my insurance discount amount . She quickly tells me oh well you're getting this done and this done so it's gonna cost you a total of about $300 I then stop her and say , ma'am how much is it for ONE filling that I'm coming in for I keep asking your office and no one has giving me clarity . She quoted me the SAME price and I ask about it my deductible and she says no we aren't charging your deductible . And I keep asking if I get 80% with my insurance then why is it $90?!? How much is the filling , are you charging anything else? She says no and I ask AGAIN are you in network ? She says yes and I say hold on I'm getting a calculator . I literally sit there and calculate 80% from her filling price and it comes out to HALF of what she's quoting me . I say , ma'am why are you quoting me $90 I just did the math with you over the phone , how much discount are you applying ? and she FINALLY SAYS. Oh because we are OUT OF NETWORK ! I was soooo LIVID ! They did everything to avoid telling me this . I'm so GRATEFUL That I was able to figure this out before getting a VERY HEFTY bill , literally DOUBLE . I was reading people's reviews in google and Yelp and they have been doing this for at least a year . I think they know what they are doing and placing the cost to their patients and lying to them . BE VERY CAREFUL . I will be filing a report to the Better Business bureau especially after reading people's SAME experience of being lied to about being in network! The worst dental place hands down. They can't even do a extraction correctly without leaving a piece behind. They claim a simple cleaning is a deep cleaning just to charge you out of pocket and they want to only clean half the mouth to charge your insurance double. These people can't get their billing straight. They quoted me for deep cleaning with an out of pocket cost of $123 and I said ok. The procedure was done with satisfactory results. A week before my 6 month follow-up appointment I received a bill for a balance of $89. I double checked with them before the procedure that it was covered by the insurance. I called the insurance and they said the reason the claim was denied is because the dentist billed for regular cleaning and deep cleaning on the same visit. They also sell you on extra services that the insurance won't cover. Like sealants and fluoride treatment. I'll stay away from this establishment. It's not even the money, it's the principle. If I could give 0 stars it would be 0. My husband went here for a cleaning..... they tried to sell him on a perio cleaning which was not needed!!! He didn't have any cavities and his pocket depths were mostly 3's with an occasional 4 and 1 5. He is 45 years old and they told him he couldn't have a regular prophy (cleaning) these pocket depths are absolutely normal for a man his age. They basically stole our insurance money and we will now have to pay out of pocket for him to get another set of X-rays from another office. This place is scam place DO NOT GO HERE!!! I had the pleasure of going to Edgemere dental after having another dentist quote me at almost 3,000 dollars after my insurance. I called edgemere dental and explained to them my situation and they gladly had me come in free of charge to get a second opinion and everyone in the staff is super friendly. I was greeted by the front desk and they were all very attentive and gave me the best customer service indeed. After getting a second opinion at Edgemere dental, they quoted me at about 600 dollars which was amazing! They saved me a ton of money and also they are not pushy about applying for care credit either which I liked. I saw Dr. Parker and Dr. Lee and they were very professionally and knowledgeable. The hygienist Denise is also very good. The three of them were very nice and courteous and not once did I feel like they were pushing unnecessary procedures that would just cost me more. This Dentist office is HORRIBLE!!! I was getting a implant in my mouth and was told the cost and my insurance will not pay for any cosmetic surgery. After paying so much money, I received a implant and by the 3rd week it fell out ( As I was speaking to clients, so embarrassed). They replaced it and 2 weeks later it became was very loose...UGH!!! When I went back the 3rd time, spoke to the new dentist he said he would replace free of charge. They also made me aware that my dentist no longer works there. They also stated that I owed $1300 more dollars than what the original dentist has told me. They are now holding the implant hostage until I pay them $1300. This is crazy..After all the screws ups and all the money they have charged me, they will not give me my money back. After to speaking to different staff, they also notice I was treated wrong. I have been a customer of this establishment since I moved to El Paso 5 years ago. Recently, the staff has become extremely unprofessional. Treating clients with a condescending and patronizing tone has become the norm. They are extremely disrespectful with no regards for people's time. I had an appointment on a Saturday, I never called to cancel or reschedule, but I was outside waiting for my appointment and they weren't even open. Today they did it again, I never called to cancel or reschedule my appointment. I had prepaid for the services I was getting today, but they decided to cancel my appt again. They said they called me and texted to "confirm" the appointment. But I guess I can't work and I have to be on the phone waiting for them to contact me about an appointment I had already paid for and therefore had all intentions of going. Do not go to this dentist! I used to love this place but they changed dentist and did a number on my mouth. I went in to just get a cleaning and was told by the new dentist I needed 4 root canals. My ass should have went to get a second opinion but I trusted them since I had been going there for over a year and never had problems. So I got the work done all in one day ( another warning sign I ignored) the whole process was super painful and I ended up getting an infection on both sides of my mouth. The pain and infection continued for over a year and the dentist finally got tired of me coming every week and gave me a check to go to another dentist because he couldn't fix his fuck up. I lost a lot of money from leaving work,paying for unnecessary work and calling in sick. I figured they would compensate me in some kind of way but all I got was a big fuck you since I signed their fucking Devil contract. Save your money and go to the dentist that used to work there. God awful dentist office, avoid this place at any and all costs. I came to Hale seeking help for my wisdom teeth and due to his medical negligence and overly arrogant attitude, I ended up in the ER from an extreme infection. Hale told me I had nothing to worry about and inaccurately diagnosed my problem as dry socket. Nothing about this guy or office was done right. I missed work, piled on medical bills and went through extreme pain and suffering because of this office. they even charged me for four tooth extractions and only took out two, been trying to get a hold of this guy for weeks about my money and keep getting the run around. I count my lucky stars that my own vigilance outperformed Hale's terrible care. I could have ended up in a much worse or deadly situation.
