Eden Church is such a fantastic Community of Christ! If you give Eden a shot you will be thrilled to find such a loving, caring, family-oriented Community of Christians. What a different experience than the traditional Catholic Church I grew up going to my entire youth! Eden feels more like a family gathering than anything else... Just look at the fun bounce houses they put out for the children each and every Sunday! -They currently offer two convenient service times (9:30 am and 11:00 am on Sundays) -They have the best Christian Band I have ever heard and they are all very talented! -They give you absolutely no pressure to join, but instead they encourage you to engage within the Community -They offer Eden "Kids" (with 3 different age groups) during both services so the parents can focus on Christ for an hour a week -They offer wonderful groups for everyone! Including: Men's, Women's, Mom, Dad, Youth, High School, College, and Alpha Groups! -They are involved in the greater Community by partnering with other non-profits such as Foster-the-Bay, CityTeam, CAPSV, & The Fellowship Inc. -They host many large functions all throughout the year to encourage Community engagement and the Fellowship of Christ. There are so many great things to say about Eden that I'm not sure where to begin! What I love about it is that you can feel welcome no matter where you are on your spiritual or faith journey. My husband and I began attending Eden Church since it's inception a couple of years ago. I approached the experience with curiosity, but due to the fact that I was born and raised Roman Catholic, I never anticipated that I'd make Eden my home. That mindset completely changed the minute I was greeted by the kind and welcoming volunteers, and it was absolutely solidified once I heard Pastor Daniel deliver his message. I can honestly say that throughout my years as a practicing Catholic, I never understood the teachings from the Bible quite as clearly as I do now with Pastor Daniel's delivery. Each message is always given context and related to our present life in some capacity. There have been many occasions that I truly felt he was speaking directly to my heart. Eden isn't just a place, it's a community! It's a welcoming group of individuals with varying backgrounds and experiences that genuinely care about one another. I would have never thought in my life that I would ever step foot in a church. I started going in the summer of 2017 and have not missed a Sunday service if I could help it. When I first came to EDEN, I was so impressed by how friendly everyone was. It was a warm and inviting environment and everyone was welcoming. I love this church it is amazing. I am like you reader I was skeptical about finding churches in this area there are not very many. I came across this church after listening to pod casts on their website. They are a super friendly church that really welcomes people and makes you feel like you are missed when you are gone. The preacher has very relevant sermons. Also there are many younger adults at this church as well which is rare now a days. They also have stuff for the kids as well. As someone who has seen a lot of different kind of churches and some people get hurt from churches, it's inspiring to see how Eden Church has succeeded in being a community where people can feel freely accepted regardless of where they are at spiritually, which gives them the space to move forward in the spiritual journey of following Jesus Christ. And I've seen how they have helped people, both spiritually and physically. This church is so diverse with people from different countries, different ethnic backgrounds, different ages, and different spiritual backgrounds, yet everyone comes together on a Sunday morning and can relate to each other beyond these socially constructed categories. I can hear from so many different perspectives and learn about the world from talking to people here on Sundays and in their groups that meet during the week. Despite this diversity and the fact that a lot of people coming here would not necessarily identify as Christian at this moment, probably the one thing that everyone coming here has in common is that they all have found something in the Christian church that they can't easily find elsewhere, and Eden Church has done an effective job making that happen. Pastor Daniel and his wife are definitely two of the most friendly, considerate, loving people I've met, and I believe their attitude has played a significant part of shaping the culture of Eden Church. They passionately care about Jesus Christ and giving everyone the chance to truly hear the gospel. And their integrity is inspiring, at least from how I've seen them act when they're not on stage. With all that said, this church is still a very young church with a lot of ways it could grow, and it is not the church for everyone. If someone cares about regularly participating in Christian rituals such as the Eucharist, they would be disappointed by Eden Church, since it seems to be done very irregularly here, somewhat rarely. Also at the point that I am writing this, I haven't really seen the church's community do much together outside of their Sunday morning service or their weekly groups. I've had little success in developing relationships deeper than interacting during only church events, but that could be because I haven't tried hard enough. And finally, in the volunteering to set up and tear down for the church, while this definitely plays a role in building the community of the church, it takes a lot of time, and I believe it can easily burn someone out if he/she is not careful. Despite those criticisms, I still give the church 5 stars because all the issues I mentioned make perfect sense when you remember it's still a young church, and I see everything moving in a positive direction. read more

I moved to NorCal about 10 months ago, and had told myself once I was settled I would start looking for a church out here. At the time, both pre and post my move everything you could possibly imagine was going downhill and I wasn't doing too hot. I started looking for a church and visited maybe 3/4 other churches and wasn't satisfied. I knew I was being particular about what I was looking for and hoping to find (somewhere not too far from my place, something not too "in your face", music, and diversity). I found out about EDEN through a mailer that was sent to my apartment. I looked them up online, and liked what I read and the pictures they had...and so, I told myself I would go to their Christmas service. I ended up going for the first time on New Years Day and haven't stopped going;). Not only did this "place" meet my expectations, but it went above it. I felt at home the moment I entered and knew I found my new church home. Pastor Daniel and his wife Kayla, are awesome and genuinely care about the work they are dedicated too. I moved here not knowing anyone, and have made friends I workout with, explore NorCal with, and made connections with my career. I've joined a small group that provided a safe space for me to ask those doubtful questions I had about my faith and where I was at spiritually...and didn't feel judged! I've now been volunteering for the church, and hope to help welcome new faces as they have done with me. read more
