Spooled Up Diesel Repair

Spooled Up Diesel Repair

For starters, I took it there for injector replacement. Soon after, I noticed the strong smell of…read moreexhaust. I took it back in and they said my cat was getting clogged. So I spent another $700 removing the cat and piecing in a piece of pipe where they took it out. I found out later that they hadn't welded it in. They had clamped it. On one end of the pipe where they had clamped it to the old one it was very loose. In fact, at one point, it fell off and just about, flooded me out with exhaust fumes. A reattached it and could not get it tight enough to seal. So I called them and said this needs to be welded. It should've been welded from the get-go. So I took it back and they welded it, but I still get a lot of exhaust smell in the cab. My truck used to smell really nice inside now. It smells like exhaust. I'm not sure what my next step is, but definitely not satisfied. I will post more reviews on other sites. Oh another thing. The diesel mileage decreased by 2+ mpg

The best part - TOW TRUCK KARAOKE. Nothing passes the time like belting Phantom of the Opera, Queen and other classics while driving through the Palouse. It will forever be a bright and hilarious memory on what started as a pretty rough day. I highly suggest Agri-fix and karaoke for your towing and emotional needs. 5 stars.

Initially I had considered writing a very poor review. But I came to the understanding that my…read moreimpression of Agri-Fix as a company was way off. I was in a very tight financial vise at the time that my car's lower ball joint snapped while the car was in motion. The one and only option I could afford at the time was to let Agri-Fix take my car to their yard, and attempt to initiate contact between them and my insurance company. My insurance company wound up not being willing to work directly with them, and rather only allowed for me to receive a reimbursement for the tow once I had paid upfront. Due to several mutual miscommunications and misunderstandings, I had trouble getting my car released from the yard, which was a problem considering I was to be charged rent for storage each day it remained there. I became very angry and convinced the company was being intentionally dodgy, in order to squeeze me for money I did not possess. I called Agri-Fix later on with a question about a charge, and found myself speaking to the wonderful owner, Amy. I told her about the miscommunications derived from the employees I had been in contact with, and how what should have been an event that led to the immediate release of my car, I wound up with 11 days of storage fees, each at $89. Rather than ignore me, Amy listened and understood, and did her best to personally see to it that it be made right. She and I worked out a price option that I could afford and didn't diminish her work's value. It is only because of this integrity, on her behalf, that I will be able to afford my bills. I want to note that the miscommunications that occurred were not in poor reflection of her team, but rather simple misunderstandings. Thank you to Agri-Fix, for being willing to operate as a human oriented company, and for the owner's honor and kindness. I would highly recommend Agri-Fix for all. I would add, especially those unnerved about being taken advantage of; for my personal experience with them has proved to be of honesty and character.

If you are a woman, I would not recommend Affordable Auto Services. Well, I wouldn't recommend it…read moreto anyone. I took my Honda into Affordable Auto in February because I was leery about taking it to Bud Clary. All of the lights on the dashboard would light up and the car would go into limp mode intermittently. I showed them the Autozone print out stating that the throttle body needed to be replaced. They claimed it wasn't the throttle body, it was some other parts connected to the throttle body. I trusted them to complete necessary repairs. The repairs costed $2,000. Not even a week later the issue returned. I took it to Autozone again and it stated again that the throttle body was bad. I had already spent $2k that I couldn't afford and they said it might be a bad steering rack. I took it to Bud Clary and they replaced the throttle body and I haven't had an issue since.

This business, it calls itself "Affordable Auto Service" but it's anything but that!!! Here's why…read moreI can say this: My vehicle's "Service Engine Soon" lamp came on the dash recently so I grab my OBD and plug it into its port to see what's going on. It's showing a DTC of P0128. Click on the additional info button on the ODB and it states there are 4 possibilities as to what's happening. The most obvious: a thermostat that's stuck open. Purchase a replacement thermostat and am set to replace it when I re-injure a past foot injury. Back having to wear a walking cast so I'm now slightly lopsided and in no condition to perform the repair myself. So it's now a trip to a shop to have the work performed. Drop my vehicle off to this shop at 7:30 AM and explain my ODB shows a DTC of P0128 and leave them the thermostat I had purchased myself. Inform the employee that the coolant was last replaced in Oct of 2020 so this might as well be replaced also. Should have asked for a quote upfront for I would have saved myself the shock of seeing how much I got charged several hours later. Returned at 1:30 pm but I see my vehicle with its hood up so they're still doing something with it. I return an hour later and it's parked so the work performed, it's completed. Or so I thought. So what did I get charged to have the thermostat replaced and the coolant? Would you believe: $840 dollars!!! That's right. Yeah, I can't believe this sum either. Worse yet, when I drove away I couldn't believe what I was looking at on my dash. The "Service Engine Soon" lamp was still on and I had a NEW idiot light flashing at me. I pull into a parking lot to see why the "Low Coolant" lamp is on and it's obvious. There's absolutely NO coolant in the coolant reservoir!!! What the hell??? My auto's Low Coolant sensor sits in the bottom right-hand side as you face standing in front of it. Every time I turn my vehicle over, this lamp comes on. Three days later I return and request they add a couple of quarts of coolant so this lamp won't come back on. Surprised I wasn't charged for this. But lo and behold, guess what's no longer lit on my dashboard? Right, the Low Coolant lamp. I inquire as to why I'm charged $550 dollars just to replace the thermostat and another $200 dollars to replace the coolant? Get told, "there were issues" and the mechanic took longer. I ask, "and what were these issues?" Unsurprisingly, I never received an answer to my question and "these issues" they're NOT written down anywhere on my Repair Order! Gee.... I wonder why????. The paperwork shows nothing but dollar amounts but as far as how much time was spent performing the work, nope, not a thing. Zilch, nada. So I ask, "how much time was involved and get told, approx 3.7 hrs. Hard to believe it takes a WHOLE hour to remove coolant and then add almost 8 quarts. REALLY??? I have since been informed that replacing my vehicle's thermostat, it should only take, at the most, 2 hrs. As for the coolant, this should have been included with the work performed given it was the THERMOSTAT that was replaced, for crying out loud! I did receive a "new customer" discount but this was not mentioned when I dropped my automobile off and someone probably thought, "this guy's lookin' at a $1,000 dollar repair bill and all we did was replace the coolant and thermostat.... hmm, let's give him a supposed "discount." I now realize, I should have simply asked for a quote on what this business would charge me. As the saying goes: "Buyer Beware" As to whomever owns this business, a word of advice: just because a customer turns up with their OWN part because they already know what needs to be done because they also own an OBD, this doesn't give you the right to overcharge them. Also, a customer having out-of-state license plates isn't a signal to justify Ripping them OFF because you think, "gee, what are the chances they return to complain?" Well, there is such a thing as the state of Washington's Consumer Protection Division so in fact, I do have recourse to file a complaint with them, in case you weren't aware. One more thing: how about relocating your hourly labor rate sign so it's more prominently displayed where customers can more easily see it. Having it on the wall opposite the front door, since most customers will come through this door, if they don't close it, then the information is HIDDEN from VIEW. I hope it pleases you to know, you scammed a former Armed Forces Service member. As such.... PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK!

I appreciate that skill; a good diagnosis not only shows knowledge and experience but saves a lot of money for me, too.
