Going to the dentist is stressful as it is and a miss communication isn't an adventure like a meal which is completely different than one expected. We're talking about my teeth here. And "Dr Nick" does talk a lot about what he is doing. He's quite gentle, but explained everything a little too much. I wanted to say that I had been to a dentist before--every 6 months when I was in the US. Ah well. I am sure it serves him for the most part. He was quite efficient. I was in right away and had my check up with x-rays done in 30 minutes. The good news? My hygiene was still up to par and no new cavities, 40€. The bad news? I have two 15 year old fillings that need to be replaced (I figured as much and considering the quack I saw in college who put them in I'm surprised they lasted so long), 170€. At least I can wait to put the money together. I was told that the cleaning and fillings will be about 45 minutes. Since they are conveniently located a few blocks from La Sagrada Familia, time is not a problem; it's just not going out for a few weeks to save up for for the expense.

My experiences here were incredible and I am thankful for such a thorough dental team. Doctor María…read morede la Sota was very assuring in my dental emergency (my veneer broke), and she recommended that the veneer be removed and replaced with a crown instead. She was very friendly, which helped since I was so nervous (it was my first week in Barcelona!). If I didn't know what she was saying in Spanish, she would translate in English-much appreciated. Each week, I would come back and try on the crown, but she did not like how it looked. In a nutshell, she was a perfectionist. That itself was perfect because I wanted my fake tooth to look like a real one! She even brought in the specialist who makes and colors the crowns to meet me and diagnose the situation as well. She was willing to keep working until the perfect, believable crown was made. I'm back in America and no one can tell which one is the crown. In addition, my teeth had moved in all of this. She then referenced me to her orthodontic partner, who quickly made me new retainers with an apparatus that would push back the teeth that had moved. Ximena, the secretary, is always so warm and welcoming, so I was always at ease. Definitely like this office much better than my regular dentist at home here in California!

I was treated by what could possibly have been a student, the overall "cleaning" took 15 minutes, needless to say I complained and the main dentist lady saw and confirmed the bad treatment. She diss used the young apprentice and did another 5 minutes of cleaning. She kept asking if now it's ok, as if I am the dentist, lastly as I was fed up seeing it won't get better, to my surprise it got worse, she cane back with an injection. She wanted to inject some substance to my gum for some reason. Anyways, if you want to keep your mouth in a good shape you should stay away from this place. Truly horrible experience.
