This large post office in the main street in Largs is new since I was there last. It's now in a…read morehandier place to get to than the smaller one that I remember tucked up a side street. Besides all the usual service you'd expect from any PO, this one also sells gifts, souvenirs and postcards. The staff are pleasant and helpful as well. Parking is difficult outside as it's always busy there but you may find a space if you're lucky!

It's managed by First Scot Rail, on the Ayrshire Coast Line and there are hourly services to Glasgow Central (taking about one hour). There's a waiting room, ticket office, a tourist information booth, a car park at one side and a taxi rank. Found practically in the town centre so very handy and easy to reach if you're in Largs on foot.

Grounds were immaculate. It felt like entering an amusement park... especially at night. Things that would make this place an even more amazing place : Indoor Swimming pool Cold plunge and sauna area/ recovery room Higher quality meat and healthier options in dining hall for lunch and dinner ( the fruit and veggies were really decent though ) Really minor stuff that's really not an issue at all . It was quite busy in there and I was lucky that there was one vacant chair and computer each time I went in! I enjoyed browsing the books as well and noticed that there is a delightful and colourful children's reading area off to one side. The staff were friendly and helpful and I shall go back there again the next time I'm staying in Largs. There's a large free car park at the back of the building. Opening times: 9.00-7.30 every day except Wed when it's 9.30-12.30 and Sat 10.00-5.00

A small, unmanned, railway station managed by Scotrail, now with just one platform (the train from…read moreGlasgow goes on to Largs then comes back the same way minutes later). You pay on the train as there are no ticket machines. The station is kept clean and tidy, there is a covered shelter and tubs of flowers during the spring and summer months. There are CCTV cameras overhead at the entrance and automatic announcements through a small platform mounted tannoy system. There are several spaces in the car park which is right next to the platform. In the very unlikely event that it would be full, it's easy to park in one of the nearby roads. There is no taxi rank but, for travellers without a car, it's a short walk to the main road where there are frequent buses in both directions.
