When the petals are closed, the flower stands 75 feet tall and 52 feet wide. When the petals are open, they span 105 feet. It was designed by Eduardo Catalano. Amazing to see the city of Buenos Aires reflected in the petals. Visit early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

The sculpture is fairly big (75 feet tall), with its signature characteristic being that its petals can move. The petals are retracted at sunset and then opened up again at sunrise. I thought that it was a gorgeous looking sculpture, but not something to go out of one's way for. What was disappointing as well is that you cannot get close to it and only take photos from a distance. It is surrounded by a reflecting pool. However, it was a perfect add on to my visit to the nearby Recoleta Cemetery.

This small square packs in the action. There was a dance troupe doing tango demonstrations. Their loudspeakers drew in the crowd, and they put on a thirty minute show that involved all the histories of tango dance. Around the plaza, they had antique stalls set up, selling seltzer bottles, signs painted up in the Argentinian lettering style, old records, pins, lamps, sculptures, lots of pictures of Evita. Around the exterior of the square, there are cool restaurants, bars, and antique shops. Most of the bars focus on tango and accordion music. When I went, there was an accordion player in the street, playing Yankee Doodle on the accordion when I walked by... This scenic bar is right in the heart of San Telmo, which is a really neat old neighborhood with scenic buildings, and the whole art fair on the weekend.

On weekends and national holidays there's a fair that's kinda like an antique shop, a craft fair, a market and a book fair all in one. There are some interesting finds in there, so it's a good way to spend a lazy Sunday outside, browsing stall by stall in search of a good deal. It's surrounded by tons of bus stops, the Dorrego subway station, and a couple of blocks away you've got the Chacarita station of the San Martín Railway as well.

The price of the ticket is expensive, though you have lots of promotions you need to see before going in. We had the 2X1 from Carrefour Supermarket, and I know there a lot promotions like this. On the other hand, the food in the food court is not good. You have few options and the food is not tasty, is fast food but not a good one.
