Wonderful Facade but that is all
    Johnny F.

Where to start? First I must say that when we drove up we were pleasantly surprised. The facade looked new and was inviting. As soon as I walked in the door I knew it was not going to be good. The facade is hiding an ugly truth. Don't be fooled by their online pictures. The hallway behind the facade was the actual hotel. The front desk attendant was enclosed in a plexiglass safety cage with a small ticket slot that they communicate through and you have to bend your ear to the slot to hear them. I have stayed over 25 nights at choice properties so far this year and my company handles all the bookings; this is the first time that the attendant has told me that the room price increased since the booking. WHAT? I was already booked at a set price, but this hotel does not follow those rules. After we finally got the room we dropped our bags and headed to the nearest grocery store for Febreeze and candles. The smell was an unknown mixture of several smells in the room. The internet speed was terrible, I could not even complete my work for the day. Forget about streaming anything. When I asked the clerk if there was a problem with the internet he said that the hotel was booked and everyone was using it at once. I would believe this except for the fact that there was only 10 cars at the hotel at the time. The next day after work we returned to the hotel and tried to use our room key and it would not work. The hotel only authorities the room key for one day, as we found out from the guest behind us that has been there several days and has to have his room key coded every day. We were supposed to stay another day but checked a day early and will drive all night home after work rather than stay here. I also informed my company that this hotel needs to be on the do not book list.

they did a lot of work on this place and have made it so people that were trouble can't order from here making it a nice safe clean environment and it's like every other for five star hotel so don't be afraid to rent a room it's actually nice quiet clean and safe

The AC blows the curtain up and all I could smell was cigarettes.

I stayed at this hotel only because on my trip to Boston I couldn't find anything nearby for less than $200. This hotel was a joke and makes the top 3 list on worst hotels I've ever stayed in. First off, it looks so much nicer on their website. What you don't see is the smell. My room was supposed to be non-smoking but it smelled as if someone had smoked & also smelled like dirty dog. I was really not interested in staying but since I was in Boston for only 2 days and spent most of my time out of the room, I didn't want to deal with the hassle of paying more elsewhere and having to take time away from the city experience. Staff was not friendly, somewhat rude and not helpful. Also, no elevator! So, if you've got alot of heavy luggage, good luck! I would NEVER stay here again and wished I'd done better research before I even booked the room through Expedia. I've stayed at cheap hotels before that were better than this one. It just attracts the wrong people, staff and even the price was not cheap. I paid $140 after taxes & fees in June. P.S Breakfast was just OK and their vending machines were out of order. Also, not a lot to do in the neighborhood.

I use Hilton over Marriott because of the app and being able to use digital keys. The benefit of not having to go by the front desk in busy travel is really key. This property is an absolutely not. I checked in yesterday- as a Hilton diamond member choosing my room (541) on the top floor and at the end of the hall for quietness. Because I know that's an issue for me sleeping. Because this has happened so much, I've started screenshotting the confirmation. On the way from the airport I see I still don't have a digital key despite my confirmed check in being two hours before. I know there's likely a problem. Sure enough, the gentleman asks for my id and I have to re-enter the same credit card (the one I already had on the app and worked smoothly last night at a different hotel). He hands me keys and directs me to elevators. At which time I see my room is now 222. I go back to the desk and show them the confirmation to which they play dumb- "it just gave me this room" and another lady "I'm sorry. Maybe the top two floors is an airline and they're together all we have is third floor" in the most insincere apology you can imagine. It's not about floor, it's about noise. The airline may have status but I do as well- as a diamond member for many many years. So given I'm here for two days staring at a parking lot best I can do is warn others. Really been disappointed in Hilton lately. Do better.

The room itself is gorgeous just like the rest of the resort and casino. It's very classy and classic inside, mostly white and cream decor with pops of color. We had the king suite and it was super spacious with a couch, large bathroom, bath, shower, and a nice view of the harbor. It's also very tech savvy with an ipad that controls mostly everything in the room. Beds are also comfortable and it was super clean. They have food/drinks in the fridge but you have to pay. It's nice for a little getaway and convenient if you want to sleep after playing in the casino downstairs. Plus parking is free and there's a water shuttle to Boston. Honestly a good idea for tourists too wanting to see the city. I'd stay here again!

The problems started before I even arrived. I was traveling from Logan Airport and followed Encore's own website instructions for the shuttle. Those instructions were wrong. Because the hotel had not updated its posted pickup location, I spent roughly an hour walking around downtown Boston in the rain trying to find the shuttle. I called twice for help and spoke with two different representatives, both of whom were deeply uninterested and unable or unwilling to provide useful assistance. When I finally found the correct shuttle area, I waited even longer in the rain, only for the driver to tell me and two other passengers that we needed to get on a different shuttle that was already pulling away from the curb. We literally had to chase it down to catch it. Because of this, I missed a work meeting. Unfortunately, arriving at the hotel did not improve the experience. After standing in an excessively long check-in line, I finally got to the front desk, where the staff confidently insisted that I needed to pay the full room amount, even though my company had already paid for the reservation. At that point I was exhausted, wet, and late, so I paid it just to get into the room. Now my office manager is having to argue with the hotel because staff are apparently claiming I never had a reservation at all -- which is especially strange given that I am currently sitting in the room, and we have an emailed receipt showing that the room was already paid for. Even worse, the staff member speaking with my office manager has reportedly been snarky, condescending, and dismissive while she tries to resolve a problem created by the hotel's own systems. Rather than helping investigate the discrepancy, he appears to be treating her as though she is confused or incompetent. That is unacceptable customer service under any circumstances, but it is especially galling when she is the one trying to clean up Encore's billing and reservation mistake. This was not one minor inconvenience. It was a cascade of failures: incorrect transportation instructions, unhelpful phone support, chaotic shuttle coordination, a missed business meeting, a miserable check-in process, an apparent duplicate charge, and now a billing/reservation dispute being handled with condescension instead of professionalism. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury resort, this was genuinely embarrassing. Nothing about this experience felt organized, hospitable, or guest-focused. It felt like a high-end property with low-end operations and staff who could not be bothered to solve problems they helped create. Encore Boston Harbor may be a great place to stay if you enjoy being wet, late, overcharged, dismissed, and treated like an inconvenience. I will not stay here again, and I would strongly caution business travelers against relying on this hotel for anything that requires competent logistics, accurate billing, or basic customer service. Beautiful building. Broken operation. Absolutely not worth the aggravation.
