Definitely not the greatest in the world, but close to the highway and relatively clean. Room was about $80.

Dead roach under the sink. Buttons missing from the phone…read more Went to get a cup of apple juice the dispenser dispensing the juice dispenser 20 unknown chunks of something and the label on the dispenser had the word, "juice." and a taped on label that said apple juice. Random vending machines that don't work. TV was small. Pool had bits of dirt in it. Mostly empty. Clothes outside. The pool had locks but the employee in the lobby said it was open turned out ONE SINGULAR GATE WAS UNLOCKED. doors were hard to open. Pool also had bits of its tiling coming off. The only good thing was the free wifi.

This Hampton could have definitely received more stars. But, there are some strange things afoot…read morehere - things different from other Hampton Inns. First, there are 8.5x11" signs on every exit stating not to take alcohol beyond that point. Tacky, for sure. Makes you wonder what issues brought on that overkill. The worst thing was the breakfast. A voucher is required. Some poor lady asked if it was required every time she came down. Apparently (as she attempted to explain) her custom is to come down and get a small bite while her husband is getting ready. Then, later, they come down together. The breakfast attendant didn't allow that. She then proceeded to harass every other person for their voucher. Just strange. They must have a bunch of people come off the street for the "free" breakfast or something. Having said all that, the room was clean and the people were nice. I even checked for bugs after looking at the other review. I didn't see anything, but the mattresses aren't wrapped like some hotels have done. I guess It can all be summed up by saying that this isn't the experience I'm used to at Hampton Inn.

Wow, what a great place! Right at two hours from Birmingham, AL, so a pretty easy run. The last 25…read moremiles are so take you through Mentone on the back roads and it is rather pleasant (as long as the GPS holds out). We went to use Amex Hilton free night benefits and they were kind enough to up-grade us to the side of the facility with the better views and a balcony. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The pool an hot tub looked really inviting, but it was just a little too cold for me to take the dip (I regret that decision now btw). Be sure to call ahead to ask about the amenities. For example, the hotel has its own six-hole course that I think you can play for free. Had I known, I'd of brought my clubs an booked a t-time. My wife went to the spa and said it was great.

Cloudland at McLemore was an unexpected surprise! The staff is top notch and the rooms are well appointed. We had a room on the Terrace level where we could walk right out to the heated pool and hot tub (which we skipped, but it looked amazing)! It's very dog-friendly with walking and hiking trails, stunning golf course, fire pits, games, and other amenities, for just about any visitor. The only thing that missed the mark was the food service and quality. We went to Croft, but I expect the food quality is similar at both onsite restaurants.). Otherwise, it's a magical spot to spend any long weekend or holiday.

I was a little worried to stay here after reading the reviews, but needed a hotel in the area…read more However, we were pleasantly surprised. Every staff member we have come across has been friendly and kind. Our room was great and looked updated. The linens were in the room already for the pullout bed (9/10 when we have had a pullout we have had to go to the desk and pick them up at other hotels) We love the amenities. The shower has shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. Our room has a fridge and coffee maker. The pool area was nice. There is even a grill outside. Breakfast was decent with a mix of hot items, and cereal, muffins, boiled eggs, fruit, grits and oatmeal packets and hot water, juice, and coffee. The Coke machines in the hotel only take cash or change. Not a complaint just an FYI if you need a caffeine fix other than coffee and rarely carry cash. We would totally stay here again. Our king size bed was comfy and came with 5 pillows.

We had an issue at this hotel before checking in. We were disappointed, but were accepting of it…read more The front desk person put the general manager on speaker phone to speak with us about the issue and the GM turned this into a much larger situation when she (again, in front of the whole lobby) decided to be completely condescending in her words and tone, cross personal boundaries and just be unacceptably rude. The GM, Michelle Venable, has ZERO place in a customer service industry. Awful!
