I am a professional real estate agent. I purchased a designer pair of pants in Miami in the Anne Fontaine boutique for $450. I took them to ECO Cleaners to be hemmed as well. I wore them once, and took them back to be dry-cleaned. When I got them back, I noticed the material had been melted in few places. I knew that it would be taken care of because of the couple who used to work there. Honestly I thought they were the owners. I left the pants, and was told to expect a call. The call never came. When I went in to see what had happened, my favorite couple no longer worked there. I understood the confusion with the change over. Once again, I expected a call that never came. I went back in and the new staff member gave me the email account for the owner, Kathy and Fazli Oden. I was instructed to email my receipt to request the reimbursement. The woman said they would take very good care of me. I followed these instructions and highlighted the receipt for the pants, the price, the 7% tax and also requested the price of the hemming. I got a call from Kathy. She wanted to know if I would accept $300 and perhaps trade for dry-cleaning since I was a good customer there. I told her since I had worn the pants once, I really wanted to buy a new pair of pants. She said she would talk to her husband. While on vacation, I came home to a voice mail that they were going to give me $200 and no more. It would be up to me to take this matter further. I was to come to the cleaner to pick up my check. When I did, the check was not there. I had to go back again. I have taken videos of the premises and only took a picture of the check because I am taking legal action for their very poor business practice. As a new business, you would think, with confirmation of the receipt to show the recent date of purchase and amount, they would understand why I might be upset with their ultimate response. I warn anyone about the very shabby business practices of these owners. Angering a good customer seems to me to go against practical business practice. How many orders would it take to make up for the price difference. Instead, they now have lost my business and any other business from those who care about great service. Customer Beware!!!!! read more
