We are multilingual - with the ability to successfully tutor English second language students. We are both accommodating and familiar with tutoring students with disabilities.

History

Established in 2014.

Eclipse Tutoring, LLC was formally created in early 2014 by Angeline Hood and her husband, Richard Hood. Having tutored privately, and additionally for two tutoring companies, Angeline utilized her collective experience to develop a vision for business - providing local, accessible, and effective tutoring at an affordable price. As we continue moving forward well into our sixth year of formal operation, Eclipse Tutoring has achieved a high level of success and continues to receive positive feedback within the Tri-Cities community. In 2015 we expanded our services to Spokane, assisting students in that metropolitan area to help attain their goals using local resources in conjunction with our local Eclipse tutors. In the summer of 2019 we did the same for students within the greater Portland metropolitan area (including Vancouver, WA.) We strive for excellence and equity as a business, and you, our valued clients are the ultimate ballast for measure.

Meet the Business Owner: Angeline H.

Originally from San Diego, Angeline lived in the Tri-Cities for over nine years before relocating to Vancouver in summer 2019. In California, she worked with several nonprofits, assisting individuals with job training. Between 2010 and 2014 Angeline worked for two tutoring companies, as well as tutoring privately before creating Eclipse Tutoring. Angeline completed her Bachelor degree at Heritage University in mathematics, with a secondary teaching certification in 2015. She attained an upper percentile score of 284 out of 300 on the required WEST-E exam, showcasing her mastery of mathematics. Angeline taught high school math at Kamiakin High School within the Kennewick School District for four years. In 2019 she completed her Master of Science in mathematics at Montana State University with an emphasis in math education.
