The Gjerde Room was amazing! The set up of chairs, the high ceiling, and stage presence is comfortable. The space does not seem like it is in the same area as the student hub. The stage is set up in a way where everyone can see. And the space can be easily transitioned to meet the needs of all events! We look forward to attending more events in this space! read more

Columbia Basin is a two year college. It serves all three of the tri-cities and their surrounding communities. They offer a variety of two year degrees and offer affordable classes for people transferring on to four year schools. The office personnel are not very good at dealing with the public. They seem to forget that we pay their salaries and without us they would not have a job. They are not very efficient or helpful with your concerns. I would suggest handling as much of your issues online that you can. They don't deserve any stars for customer service. They campus is kept clean. There are projects going on constantly to improve amenities. The ambiance is generally quite easygoing. Students range from post high school to seniors but average age seems to be early to mid twenties. The biggest problem seems to be parking at prime class times between 8am and noon. Taking that into account they deserve a half star. The faculty is generally very knowledgable in their respective subjects. The technical trade departments are in touch with current trends in the work force and seem to have many connections in the community. The professors in general care about students that want to work hard and are willing to take extra time to help with learning. The tutor center usually has very competent people staffing it. If you apply yourself they go the extra mile for you. All in all it's a solid three stars read more

The campus is really beautiful and I love being there. All the staff I've had to deal with were nice, with the exception of one sassy lady at the front desk. You can do most things online, which is nice! The counselors there are eh, I've only met with one but will definitely need to go back to hunt down someone who cares. Went here for the second time today (first time was for a talk by Native author Sherman Alexie a few years ago), to run a booth at their career fair. It looks like a fairly decent junior college. They have lots of students (parking lot was packed), and many of the facilities look fairly nice and current. Makes me want to go back to school and get my GED! :) read more

For a school that offers communications in their curriculum, their own communications skills suck. I have had nothing but problems with their Financial Aid office. They have fees for everything - I'm waiting to see a fee for charging you a fee. read more

From my experience so far, it's a small but great school. I moved to the area as the quarter ended so I needed help from advising and they were helpful with my academic plan. Parking is free and that's a huge plus for me! read more

Lack of perspective I guess, but I liked it there. I graduated and currently work on campus. The staff and teachers have been helpful, if not great. They have regular events at the campus, such as theater productions, outdoor movies, and comedians. The students range from all ages, so you get a lot of perspective from your peers. And the class sizes are smaller than bigger schools, so the teachers generally interact with the students better. One of the biggest drawbacks is parking, which is almost always packed for a certain time of the day. You might have to park far away next to the observatory. Also, my initial guidance counselor couldn't have been less helpful. And the system for online classes is always changing, which is annoying for the students and teachers. The lines in the bookstore and outside the cashiers can get pretty ridiculous as well. Stop by the atrium if you can, it's beautiful. read more

I attended a work conference at this campus earlier in the summer. The facility used was newer construction with nice access to facilities and technologies. The campus itself was very pretty, but definitely not pedestrian friendly. Ample parking for guests free of charge. read more

Going from a mediocre high school lunch, to the college cafeteria's fresh burger and fries I've never experienced such joy from having fresh cooked fries and a burger from a school, the fries were perfectly golden and crisp while being very soft and fluffy on the interior. The burger although not high end and looks like a normal burger, it was art and created with love, the cook who served me my burger was kind and struck up conversation while I waited for my meal. The staff was just so kind so I firmly believe this community is worth every, and I mean every penny of my $6.75 + tax. Five stars any day. read more

My first time in here. I had a wonderful tour guide (my hubby). He took me and our boys on a walk about on the campus. We got to see the library and gift section of the campus. The prices are pretty spendy wow. Then we got to see a couple of the classrooms he was in last term. The best part was the elevator my boys loved it. read more
