The tailors here use both the imperial and metric systems which work for me and they sew via measurements, not patterns, which is a dying trade; they teach the kids these days to sew by patterns so they cant do any sort of alterations on anything Vintage or expensive if you have changed body sizes or wanna re-purpose that has come back into fashion. There are two female tailors that are very friendly, they take time to find out what you want and will listen to you and work with you to make sure they know exactly what you want and to ensure you are happy with what you will get; and you wont be disappointed. They can keep the same Finish on the hems of expensive jeans if they are too long and no one will notice its not how you originally purchased it. I'm so glad I'm local to them; I've only seen this quality of work done internationally.

You'd think by the Mopheads logo that when you open the door to this company that you've entrusted three cheeky, mischievious cartoon mops to cleaning your home. This is far from reality as the company only employ mature cleaners who can provide references, and who are CRB checked if they are working in an environment where children might be. The company also offer deep cleaning in the form of a once-yearly spring clean, or for after builders have 'been in'. I like their suggestion to employ them for a 'Letting Clean': A service for landlords or tenants that returns rented accommodation back to its former glory. I'd have never thought of that unless they'd suggested it. Aside from house-cleaning Mopheads offer service washes, dry cleaning and alterations.

We opted for a skirt suit, the skirt fitted perfectly but the jacket didn't look as fitted as it could. We found Karlus' website online and made an appointment. He was really helpful and made my mum feel at ease. His attention to detail was perfect and my mum looked great on the photos. I usually make a trip with some random vintage dress I've bought that doesn't fit or occasionally with my favourite pieces that are now too big for me ( I've been shrinking a bit recently). Karlus listens intently to what I need and always delivers the dress improvements to deadline, sometimes staying late so I can pop in on my way home from work. He tailored a beautiful vintage suit that my other half found in a vintage barn and it now fits him perfectly...not bad for £30 charge. I couldn't recommend him enough and he ll be tailoring the other halves wedding suit and my mum s dress for our summer wedding!
