Came here on a Friday evening while visiting SLC. It was recommended because of they play a lot of hip hop. The place is really large on the inside and there are two sides. They also have a small patio which is nice if you need a spot to decompress. When I came, the place wasnt packed. I stayed pretty late and the place never got too packed which I appreciate because it made things more comfortable. The drinks were ok. I ordered doubles the entire night and ever felt much of a buzz. I might go back if i'm in that area. read more

This place is one of the worst nightclub that exist in salt lake ! Main issues being a rip off at the door and their security forces ! -the people at the door who charges you for entrance seems really nice , true, but something I have noticed recently, if you are paying with a credit card, they have their tipping option set at 25-30% for tip when you are about to sign! Lol I mean 20$ entrance and on top of that they choose their tip as well lol Last time I went I gave my credit card to the host, she made the transaction on the iPad and didn't really offer to sign, she chose her own tip and signed for me !!! I hope they know that is illegal. I didn't catch it at the time because I was a little tipsy and noticed it later when I checked my card statement. -The security people at the door are ok but the security people inside are very tense, rude, and out of their mind. I haven't experienced anything myself but have seen so much in the club that has made me not wanting to go here any longer. Security argues with people here all the time here , people get out of the club for little reasons, and I know someone who got beaten by them awhile back... I feel like the security make most of the tension here and 90% of the time it leads to some type of fight/shooting/stabbing/etc... I haven't seen anything on the karma side of the club yet, but the echo side is terrible as far as security goes. I'm done with this place myself, and wouldn't go back here again. I have spent a lot of time at this club for a few years. Better be safe than sorry and NEVER go to this nightclub. On November 26, 2022 at 12:05 a.m., the fog machine chemically burned my skin. The pain and burning were instant, and I reported it to multiple staff. They did nothing. As the pain and scarring got worse, I continued to reach out to Echo & Karma's management. The Instagram page left me on read. As a scientist with a background in product safety engineering, it is extremely dangerous if the fumes come into contact with certain parts of the body (face) and will definitely cause permanent blindness/injury. This is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed ASAP. Please be aware of this. I am still waiting to hear back from the owner and management as I am left with a permanent scar on my chest. I was assaulted by two female security guards on 01/15/2022 while trying to help my friend out of the bathroom. The two security guards dragged me by my throat and smashed my head back against the wall. I am 5'4'' and I weigh 111 lbs. There were multiple witnesses. After we were escorted outside, the two female security guards proceeded to assault me further. The first security guard then tried to attack me AGAIN and had to be restrained by the police and staff. She proceeded to make irregular-looking faces for the 10-15 minutes we were outside. This took place in front of the building doors where police and staff were present. I was left with a concussion and bruises over my entire body. Then on 02/04/2023, we were escorted out of the club within 5 minutes of arriving -surrounded by the two female guards. The manager promised a refund before he let us out. However, once we were outside, the manager lied and said now he could do nothing. He refused to give us his name and then became physically aggressive toward my friend (male in image). I am extremely disappointed in this establishment. The owner does not care about anything but profits and the staff is immature and careless, usually drinking and using substances on the job (which can explain the erratic behavior). Not only are they negligent of bodily injury caused by their equipment, but their staff is a direct threat to the customers. They look for trouble as a form of amusement, and this is done at the cost of our safety. As reported in multiple other reviews, the security guards are extremely aggressive and have caused injury to helpless people, lacking any drop of humanity in them. Violent behavior is consistent because this has been permitted by the management and owner! There is a fine line between handling situations and being outright violent. It's sad that you have to worry about the staff rather than outside danger. Nightlife and clubbing will never be safe for us as long as clubs like Echo & Karma are still running. There is no point for us girls to make a promise to take care of each other and stay together all night when the staff itself is dysfunctional and dangerous. If you want to enjoy a good night, go to an establishment that is considerate of your safety. Life is too short to take any chances, especially with human/sex trafficking on the rise in Utah. This review is for the multiple individuals who were abused and neglected by Echo & Karma and did not have a voice. Fantastic dance club. Service has been much better since the summer of 2021. Reasonable table prices. Of the downtown nightclubs one of the few places that nails a "mid brow" club experience. Compared to sky/sound well and the sister club karma, more Spanish music and less dubstep. read more

We has a group of people included for the VIP and they had to pay extra cause the girl at the entrance told them too and my friends didn't even try to get a refund. after spending the night there it was horrible. The waitress was awesome but the Security was rude AF! I lost my phone which I found out it was actually stolen. Club Gem is my favorite place to go for a girls night out. Girls always go in for free before 10:30 and Latin nights are always so much fun and they always play the hottest songs and throw backs as well. Definitely check this place out! read more

The best word to describe this place is "sticky". It felt like they hadn't mopped the floor in days. You have to pay $20 to go in (no wristband) and then have to pay for overpriced drinks. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

If you do still go here please keep a close eye on your friends, cover your drinks , & do NOT accept a drink from anyone you do not know. This is the best club in Salt Lake City!! The atmosphere is great and the music keeps the party going. The dance floor is seriously so much fun! Also, the bartenders and servers are very professional and attentive. We celebrated our friends birthday at Echo and we got VIP treatment. This bar must be ran by a 5 year old. Horrible place. They make you pay a fee to get in, don't give you your wristband. Then if you go outside and come back in, they say i didnt see you pay wheres your wristband? and make you pay again. Tf? Just a scam to get more money out of people. Also got "kicked out" because my friend was smoking outside (where you're supposed to) had a bouncer be super mean to him for no reason. I wonder why.... it's because he's black and the bouncer was white. He was absolutely rude for no reason, when my friend was being respectful and apologizing. As other people mentioned, this place is sketchy asf. The drinks prices are okay and the tables are cool to sit at, but that's pretty much all the positive there is. Sooo much security which is understandable given their reputation for stabbings and shootings, but 90% of them are rude as hell. They body search you at the entrance and one of them full on groped me and my friend. When we first went in, my friend was wearing a hat and they didn't say anything. Then, she went to grab her phone that was left at the entrance and came back in and some douchey guard in a vest came and snatched it off her head and said ," You can't wear this in here. You were told that," even though she wasn't when we came in. We had mini bottles in a Fanny pack, and they wouldn't let us bring them in, which is okay because they said they would hold them for us and give them back when we were leaving. However, when we were leaving they said they wouldn't give them back and I had to sit there and argue with them that their security assured us we could get them back. Super super good, I had tons of fun, it was a girls night and was freaking good!!!!!! Came in with a group of 7 people. It was my boyfriends birthday and we all flew to SLC from Chicago, LA, Georgia & NYC. We paid an entranced fee of $15 each because there was supposedly J Holiday coming in as a special guest. We came in at 10pm and there were probably 10 people at the club. We got a table thinking it would save us money. We paid $400 for 1 small bottle of Grey Goose that was locked up after every time the server (London) poured us drinks. I mean, we paid for it and we should be able to drink it freely, right? Anyways, we tried to see if we can get more out of the money we paid because we didn't feel like it was right. The server tried to compensate by getting us more drinks but she came out with straight up cranberry juice claiming it was mixed with alcohol. We complained again and she came out with another round of just plain cranberry juice. Rip off... anyways we did get 3 free wings but we wanted to get drunk not eat & be sober. Overall, total rip off. Music is was good tho but it was not worth it at all. On top of that, they said J Holiday was coming out at 11pm but we left at 12:30am and he still hasn't come out (if he ever did). read more
