I ended up going on this rafting trip alone because we…read morecouldn't find a babysitter so my husband could come too, and I was honestly a little nervous at first. But from the moment I arrived, everyone made me feel so comfortable and welcome that those nerves disappeared immediately. Our guide, Peter, was absolutely amazing. He was extremely thorough with safety instructions and made sure everyone felt safe and confident throughout the trip, while still keeping everything fun and exciting. He had such a great way with people and really helped make the experience memorable. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and even the owner took the time to be kind and personable, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell they genuinely care about giving people a great experience. This trip made me want to come back before it was even over, and I'll definitely be returning this summer to hopefully try one of the more challenging rafting trips. I was very nervous, as I'm a wimp and haven't rafted in about 15 years. They outfitted us in helmets, wetsuits, and booties. Mike J (MJ) was our guide, and one of the other employees told us we got their best guide. Mike was extremely patient and explained everything in detail. He showed us how to stay in sync and how to go down the Class V waterfall, Husum Falls. Larry in the kayak followed behind us to save us in case we fell out. Luckily, we didn't, thanks to our awesome guide. The waterfall is optional, and they gave us a lot of prep for it (there's a special stance for going down). We even got out of the raft and went up on a bridge so we could watch kayak Larry go down the falls. Mike told us it's the only rapid of its kind in North America. We had to go down; I couldn't miss out! We went down, no one went overboard, although two of us hit our heads on something. Still worth it. The trip was totally exhilarating for the first half, and calm nature-watching for the last portion. The waterfall marked the half point. During the first half, Mike was all business trying to prevent us from dying. We could relax a bit more during the second half, and he gave us some history about the area and pointed out the wildlife. It was hilarious when the visiting Canadian geese kept honking and flying away from us. The beautiful scenery surrounding us as we rafted down the river made it a perfect day. I definitely recommend All Adventures Rafting. The trip wasn't too scary once we got going, and the cold water felt great on the hot day. The staff is friendly, laid-back, and knowledgeable. They seemed like cool people, and worked hard to give us a safe and enjoyable adventure.

I never felt rushed or stressed the entire time we were out there. 2 hours seemed to zip right by. I went by myself and was happy to be in a group of very supportive people. The course was beautiful. Even if you hike to the top of any of the mountains in the gorge you really don't experience an adrenaline rush like flying through the air. I'm glad I went- it was a fantastic experience. Maybe I'll be back to do the aerial course!

We started the day catching smaller sturgeon until Jess and my son discussed the possibility of a much bigger challenge. A "Once in a lifetime catch!" Well, that's exactly what happened! My husband, son and even me caught HUGE sturgeon. Mine was 8-9 feet long but my son and husbands' fish were 9-10 feet!! It was phenomenal! The boat was VERY comfortable and clean. Jess knew exactly what to do and when. He was helpful and knowledgeable. We had to take the boat out and move to a different part of the river but Jess didn't seem annoyed by that at all. We had a trip of a lifetime! I will NEVER FORGET IT! Thanks Jess, you're the best guide we've EVER had!!!!

Not too far from Portland this hike is short and fun and it does award you with gorgeous views at certain points . We had a 5 year old with us who was easily able to do most parts of it . The waterfall is two tiered and the pool it falls into is perfect for a dip. The biggest challenge is the parking and we saw plenty of people get tickets .

This weekend we got around to investing more time in the trails of Butte and it was pretty fun. The trails don't allow for a complete loop around the rock, as there's a block for restoration on the east side. But you can wander most of the way around the water side...up and around the rocks is really where's it at though. There are 3 access points to the top from the trails, and the bouldering up is loads of fun. Once atop you can roam all about and enjoy fabulous views from every angle. While the remainder of the trails at Butte are average, we found it pretty entertaining to climb around the rock portion. There's a decent amount of parking...Discover Pass required...as well at a vault toilet at the trailhead.
