Visited on a Tuesday evening for my nieces 7th birthday. We had a party Saturday so this was just a fun activity with a handful of us. On our lane we paid for 8 games and 2 shoe rentals. I was SHOCKED that our total was less than $32. I also got a pink lemonade from the snack bar and it was less than $2. The center was very clean. I'm not sure if the area recognizes how lucky they are to have a privately owned center in this nice of condition. I bowl in 2 leagues in AZ run by Bowlero and it's extremely expensive. We were able to put our lanes in birthday celebration mode & it was nice that the bumpers go up for only the bowlers you want vs. all bowlers. I didn't have my equipment with me so house ball & shoes for me. It was nice bowling with a 10lb ball instead of my normal 15lbs. :) The younger staff was personable. The guy at the desk chatted with me a bit. He said the house would fill up a little later, I was telling him I was shocked there wasn't more people there. If I lived back here in IL, I'd easily consider bowling her regularly vs going into Joliet. read more

I brought my grandkids and family to Echo Lanes bowling alley on a Tuesday after 6pm, an Internet and on screens inside the establishment advertised " Tuesday Family night" False advertising is against the law! They refused to honor the advertising on the internet or on screen inside the premises even when I showed them that they were still advertising the prices! If you don't want to stand by the prices that YOU advertise then don't put it out there! This is criminal and needs to be investigated!! Not to worry to much because I only get screwed over once I NEVER RETURN! Let's see ,,, I paid for six people, three games, bought a couple pitchers of soda, four different appetizers and a bucket of beer! However the advertising for .50$ hot dogs was Refused to be honored even when I pointed it out to a manager!! Just want to make all aware of the unlawful advertising/sales practice of the Echo Lanes in Morris, Illinois! I will never be CHEATING out of my hard earned money at the establishment ever again! I live in Coal City and will take my money to another alley that stands by their advertising! Check with the Better Business Bureau for more information as there will be a formal complaint filed about this ASAP! Very impressed!!! I scheduled our preschool field trip there. They were very accommodating, helpful, and kind. We had some preschoolers unable to attend and they gave us tokens for the children who were absent. It was clean, organized, and very fun!! BEWARE OF THEIR DECEPTIVE PRACTICES! This was the worst time my family has had in or around Morris. We had a birthday party there a couple years ago, and that went well. This time, however, it was a horrifying disaster. They added stuff to the package and then told my daughter it was already included in the package. They wound up virtually doubling the price through their deception. When we were getting ready to go, we went to settle up, I did not have enough cash on me to cover their deceptive practices so I asked if I could write a check. The girl called her "manager" and told us her "manager" would come in and talk to us in a couple minutes. Five minutes later she comes in with around 6 Grundy County officers who said she wanted to sign a complaint for theft of service. She completely lied to the police, and the police - with their over-the-top heavy-handed Gestapo tactics traumatized the little kids that were there (ages 5-12) and had them crying. I am handicapped and use a walker to get around, but I evidently was such a threat they needed that many police officers. If she would have been honest and talked to me before lying to the police, it would have been taken care of earlier. Since she didn't, I called someone and borrowed their debit card until I got home to pay the deceptive bill. It was either that or go to jail. I tried to tell the Gestapo police that she lied, but they would not even listen to me. read more

Overall, this is a nice place to go bowling or play laser tag. The laser tag is a super fun experience for the whole family, and the room you play in is really big and has many places you can hide from the opposing teams. The bowling is about the same as any other bowling alley, so I'd say it's pretty good quality. Now, for the part where I knocked off two stars. The service here is terrible. We called them to ask if they were open as it was a bit later in the day. They picked up the phone and said, "Hello??" In a annoyed voice. I wasn't even sure if this was echo lanes, as they never said anything after that. When we arrived, my daughter wanted to get the bumper rails put up since she doesn't know how to bowl yet. We asked the lady up front and she said, "She's too old to use number rails." Is anyone really too old to use them? I know a few people over the age limit that don't know how to bowl yet, so I think the age rule is ridiculous. Anyway, it's a good place to go if you can block out the rude employees. read more

I'm going to break the cycle with a good review. We first came to the alley on a rainy Saturday afternoon and had a good time. It was buy two games and get the third for free. It was fairly crowded but everything we did and had was handled well. We had drinks from the bar but no food. We noticed an advertisement for Tuesday night 25 cent bowling with a 6.50 cover charge so we decided to go back on Tuesday. When we got there, the cashier said that the special starts at 6:00 p.m. and we were there at 5:30 p.m. She said that the computer would charge us full price if we started at 5:30 p.m. That's understandable so we sat in the lounge and had a cocktail and did a little gambling. She came and got us about 10 minutes later and said we could check in. Everyone was very nice. We took advantage of the 50 cent hotdogs and French fries and bowled three games each. Everything is clean and organized and the food and drinks were handled well and promptly. We told the cashier/bartender/food person that we really enjoyed the evening and she joked about us being together a long time and still having fun together... haha. Nice bowling alley but the owner is not nice at all. My son is a good boy, and simply asked her about a lost bowling ball and she started pointing her finger in his face and accusing him of stealing when he went out to the car to get another bowling ball. Birthday parties here are awful. The foods not too good but it's a bowling alley right... Theres no organization and the foods never done in time I know a few people including myself that won't bowl here strictly because of the owner. I'm only here now for a birthday party. I hope people quit having their parties here. They accually ripped my Aunt off 2 years ago charging her double for the extra stuff that was bought while the party was going on. We've been here multiple times but will be finding laser tag somewhere else. We called ahead to book a party (10+) and they said we didn't need a reservation (it was a Wednesday). We asked about outside pizza knowing they already offer snacks and pizza and they told us no which is understandable. When we arrived there was an employee whom I believe is a manager and she was not friendly at all. She immediately saw we brought cupcakes and told us no outside food. I've seen plenty of birthday parties with cake (which they don't offer). She advises cake is allowed if you book a party (which we did). When discussing with others what we wanted to do the female began making faces and talking about our group. We found this extremely unprofessional and decided to bring our business elsewhere. Absolutely horrendous, I took my little cousins with some friends and only got halfway through our game. One of the younger ones bowled a ball that only went halfway, so a friend of mine walked down and rolled it in the gutter. Right after a rude angry girl stomped over and threatened to have us leave for walking down the track. Not polite at all, very rude and angry. Ps, we were no where near the machine. Other than that we had to be placed next to professional bowlers who had interesting tattoos. Very scary for a 10 year old to see tattoos and a bull ring as an ear ring. My husband and I have been visiting the area for about two weeks, and we have been to Echo Lanes a couple times. I love it!!! This was the first time for myself to ever go bowling, and it was an excellent experience. Last night we were on lane 25 and there was no TV on that end... Due to our previous conversation, the owner knew we were huge Alabama fans, and the next thing I know.... The huge projector TVs are rolling down right next to our lane. Horrible for parties. They charge you $175 for 10 people to bowl and play laser tag. Each additional person is $15. They give you 45 min to bowl so if you don't not finish your game you are still charged. Example. Had 10 kids bowling( which is included in the package for 175) another 10 which were adults wanted to bowl too(not play laser tag.)They gave us 2 lanes to accommodate these people. By the 5th frame the game cut off and stated your 45 min was up. After consulting with the staff they stated that is how packages work and it is what it is. So now the bill just went from 175 to 325 and no one finished their game. So everyone proceeded to the party room. So when checking out I decided to ask how much a game of bowling was and they stated $5 with shoes. I asked if I could charge the bowlers that didn't get to finish their game and didnt play laser tag the regular $5 charge. The very nice cashier said she would have to call her boss to verify. After much arguing the boss gave in and charged the 10 extra people a regular game of bowling that they were unable to finish. The reasons for a 2 star rating 1)charging patrons full price to bowl and not allowing them to finish their game 2) Making a time limit for games in packages( you should at least be able to finish one game 3) when arguing the point they state it's a kids party and adults shouldn't bowl 4) pizza is 2.50 tombstone/jacks that they charge $7 This is a very expensive place and if you decide hold a party have them explain all charges before proceeding. On a good note laser tag was fun They need to explain things better to the customer and not expect them to know. Will never return to this place. read more

I booked a birthday party online for my daughter. I get to the alley and the lady looks at me and says "no you didn't". After getting me so frustrated and upset and saying she doesn't have me on her books, which looked to be all hand written, she finally asked me if I had a receipt, which I happened to screen shot my PayPal deposit receipt, she stares at it and after all that finally calls her boss who must have told her to check the computer because she ran in the back and came back with a confirmation of my party. Not once apologizing. She says "it looks like you wanted to book the party room but we didn't get the deposit for it (which I tried to add on to the PayPal but it wouldn't let me) so you can't have it" then she continues to say "I'll find a spot if you want" which obviously I did because I had a huge party of people on the way. They didn't offer to make anything right after all the trouble, and added an 18% gratuity that was apparently in the contract but I never saw it. I had to get my own refills and we picked up our own mess so I'm not sure why they get gratuity. The whole thing was a stressful mess. I will never have a party there again, and I don't suggest it to anyone. read more

very disappointed in the Laser Tag. Stopped in on Fri to ask about it. I was told they would watch a video, gear up and play for 20 minutes. I brought my grandkids in on Sunday and they were finished with everything in less than 15 minutes. What a let down. The kids were so disappointed. I spoke to a man at the counter who looked at me like I was stupid and his answer was do you want to see it? No I don't want to see it, I saw it on Friday I want to know why they only had 10 minutes of play. He stated the play time is only 10 minutes. They need to get their stories straight. I will NEVER go to this establishment again. I called for a birthday party, but the woman on the phone was so rude to me I decided against it. I asked if she had a party room and she said no. Then I asked if I could bring a cake...again just a no. Then she explained it was $13 per child for 2 games, bowling shoes and some pizza and pop. Even though it was only $3 for shoes and 1.50 per game of bowling....Which would make it $7 extra for a slice of pizza and a pop per child. We decided to just go there for the cheap bowling; especially it didn't seem like we would be getting the fun atmosphere a kids birthday party should have. Well, there is a reason it was cheap. We decided to get a pitcher of pop for the kids (which was almost $8!), poured all the cups, and took one drink. The "Sprite" we ordered tasted disgusting. When we went back up to ask for another one the snooty little teenager behind the counter replied "I don't drink pop so I will have someone else taste it." After verifying it was indeed disgusting they said they would change the lines and bring us out another pitcher. About 15 minutes later we went up to ask what happened to our pop. They gave us another pitcher, but it was just as gross. They don't even have fountain drinks. They use that cheap hose that you just push buttons on. At that point the kids were done bowling and we just asked for our money back. The little girl said "no, you already drank the other one". To which I replied, "we weren't going to drink it out of the pitcher, we had to pour them into cups and had no idea how bad it would be until we took a drink." The cups were still sitting on the table with the "sprite" in them. I then asked the girl to give us to go cups since we were leaving, and she refused. I told her that the customer service was horrible there and she informed me that her parents owned the place and she could "throw us out" if she wanted to for "giving her an attitude". I told her that this was the worst customer service I have ever seen, and I couldn't believe she was willing to lose business over a pitcher of pop, again which was $8, that we didn't even drink. The girl was arguing with me as I told her this is not how you run a business, and you do not treat your customers that way. After telling us to leave they told us we were not getting any refund nor were we getting any pop to go. I told her I would NEVER go back there again, and I would share my experience. I am still a little in shock right now. We took the birthday with all the kids over to R' Place and had a great time after that! I told them what happened there, and some of the locals informed me that they knew the family that owned that place and it was typical of them to act that way. If I can at least get one person to stay away from that place then I will feel better about having my friends and their kids drive 45 minutes to come here, only to be treated like garbage.
