She said she couldn't remember the name of the barber they got, but he was great, had a big beard and dark, thicker framed glasses. She also mentioned that it gets pretty busy on Saturdays and you may have to wait a bit. When we came in on Saturday, there were two barbers cutting 2 clients, no one was waiting to be next, except us. We took a quick seat and then from the back emerges the barber my friend described, awesome! (I also noticed there was a 4th barber in the back room, just hanging out, playing a guitar and waiting for a customer)...this is a cool and chill place. Comes to find out this mysterious bearded man is named Ray. He was absolutely fantastic with our son. My husband and I honestly could not believe how calm our son was as Ray was cutting his hair, he barely moved! It was really a great experience and so happy we chose here to get his hair cut. I attended TiGi Academy during , and after their transition period from what used to be "TEACH"…read moreacademy. TEACH academy was bought by TiGi Academy just before the Covid 19 Pandemic , at this time I was attending TEACH , which would later assume the name TiGi. With that being said , I was excited when TiGi was taking over my school and was interested in the direction that things were heading. Until it actually happened. The school used to be a wonderful learning environment that actually focused on educating the individual. Students could learn at their own pace and make progress on their own terms , this ensured that every hairdresser that came out of The school was confident in their work. ALTHOUGH now , unfortunately under new ownership , this school finds itself more concerned with the number of students they "educate" and the speed at which they educate them, than with the education itself. Which I found compromising. Not only do the new owners see you as a paycheck , but they will do their absolute best to rush your education along , so they can take on another student( I.E another paycheck) Unfortunately what this creates , is a school that prioritizes turnover rate over the quality of education. So like me you will find yourself in a situation where the OWNERS of this hairdressing academy are quite literally telling you to "fake it till you make it" in regards to cutting somebody else's hair.... Instead of providing you with the tools needed to understand and learn. Imagine expressing that you are not understanding something , then being told to just do it and fake it till you make it. The school itself is stunning , and a wonderfully ornate mask to cover what is actually just a money grab. These people will teach you about social media and faking it, They will teach you about the business aspect of things very well , because that's what they are running . A business , not a school. You are expected to learn at the pace of the class , and if you fall behind then oh well. Whilst this review should be taken as a reflection of the Academy itself and it's owners, I do not wish for this review to reflect on some of the other educators that really do their best within the bounds of their job. Like Jen and Charlie. Hopefully this review helps you in deciding wether or not this is a place you would like to do business with. I would also like to make it perfectly clear , that my previous review of this establishment was result of the owners pressuring the students into leaving them a review. When I first…read morewalked in I had a strange vib like everyone was staring at me because I wasnt a regular and didnt have an appointment. Made me feel uncomfortable. The haircut was ok but kind of pricey. Well I guess that is Madison for you. Maybe if I had on a pink whale tie I might have fit in a bit more!
