Still to this day I am able to get the duck food so that I can go across the street and feed them! This never seems to get old to me and I really appreciate how genuine and aged this place is. I have only bought duck food here but I would definitely love to come back and check it out more so I can learn more about the area that I have grown up in. Supposedly this place is haunted and it adds to the cool, old effect of visiting such an old grist mill. Definitely recommend, just beware of the very limited hours!

Not only is it cheap but it is healthy for the ducks and geese. This place also provides tours on weekends. It is a functional mill and a great historical landmark. I often see swan in the area and they would often make nests in the lower basin outside. Overall this is a really cute place to stop by and please get the bird seed as bread and other human food are bad for the birds.

I just finished reading a book about this event since I had already moved away from Long Island when it happened. This is such a beautiful Memorial and a beautiful location. I'm grateful that they made this so we don't forget. I do not understand the one star review and Inaccuracies with that one star review. Yes, this is very close to where the accident happened 2 miles. This is the closest land area to the plane crash and the actual site where a lot of the wreckage washed ashore so that review makes no sense. Also, keep in mind they need to have a spot for a memorial. A LOT OF investigative work was done very close by. ???? Would that person expect the memorial to be in the middle of the air or ocean? Smdh. A little confused on the other reviews parking comments. It was free to park when I went. I did go with a resident though.

Meditation Labyrinth Review 2 of 3…read more I never personally walked the labyrinth here, but have been down on two occasions to take pictures of it. It's located in the back of St. John's Episcopal Church, a late-eighteenth century chapel (1765) right on Montauk Highway. It has some interesting headstones in the yard too, but what you find in the back is a classical styled five-ring design outlined by shrubbery. There are some windchimes and cherub statuary surrounding it, and a bench for contemplation. Most recently, it was a bit neglected, but it is in a "garden", and I visited in the Fall. You may feel like your trespassing, and I'm not sure that you aren't. They offer the Holy Eucharist to locals, Sunday mornings at Ten.

Wonderful, spiritual place. Love the Labyrinth, church and people.read more

So, Sunday when I went nobody knew anything including the people at the dock house for an afternoon boat ride. However on a quiet June 1 Sunday I did get to see Teddy Roosevelt (actor) himself ,a very kind man, an enjoyable presentation from actor Patrick Falci( with help from his wife Joan at the slide projector) who was in the 1996 Rough Riders movie and 1997 Tv show with the same name. Note: if you're a history buff check it out! And a presentation from Head Librarian and curator Sue Sarna showing the - in the works - TR museum being build in N. The Square has a bench, a tree, some kind of Village Marker, and a one-way traffic inlet into the Church Street Municipal Parking Field. There is an unremarkable mural on the wall to the North, but the true attraction here is the Hans Gabali painting on the Southern wall. It features old-timey sights of South Ocean Avenue (see pics): 1. A dedication for the Incorporated Village Centennial. 2. Imagery of the (now bygone) Suffolk Traction Company. 3. The old Academy Street School (which is also gone). 4. An early Twentieth Century depiction of the Southeast buildings of the Four Corners. 5. The (still-there) Methodist Church (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/U1-bhlcgRzGn7vQQzDBlPw?select=Ju0C1UqSeC40VwyY_JSvRw). 6. Colby's Ice Cream Parlor (formerly on the corner of South Ocean and Smith St., now relocated) 7. (What I assume is) The old Mascot Dock and Public Bathing Beach. It's a great mural and Patchogue is lucky to have a Gabali piece of such a historic and personal nature.
