I realize that it is early in the acquisition, so I guess time will tell. I loved Rainbow Foods, so I am hoping that nothing will change with this store and it's just the name. Anyway, my previous review from 2 years ago still stands, except for the ownership part. Oh and they stopped carrying Allegro cheese, but that happened long before Natural Food Pantry took over. So a handful of people in the store, can make it appear overly crowded. That being said, they pack a lot of products in this store! I love the fact that they carry full lines of products. I hate it when grocery stores only carry two or three things from a line, so I was in vegan heaven when I hit up their freezer and fridge section. They have the biggest variety of vegan meats here, like Gusta, Gardein, Nutburg, and so on. Their snack aisle is always super intriguing. They have a large selection of chips, chocolates, and snack mixes here. It can get dangerous, pretty quickly. They have a small selection of vegan jerky from the brand Primal Strips, and they make awesome jerky! I do wish they increased their vegan jerky selection, since there is a huge market for that right now. Their produce section is meh. It's small, and the produce does not look that appealing, but I appreciate that they sell local, organic produce. I'd skip the produce here, and just hit up Farmboy next door. They also have a large selection of teas, but they were heavily overpriced compared to other retailers. That being said, know your prices. A lot of the items here are shelved at a 30-40% markup, compared to other retailers. Sometimes, they have sales that will bring items down to a more appealing price, but you really have to shop smart here. I'm still a fan of this place, and always enjoy my visits here and love checking out new products that they carry. I might have to make more trips out here in the future since they really do carry a lot of interesting vegan meats.

I was looking for a local prepared meal provider. Someone to compete with We Cook. I did some…read moregoogling and found Flava Daddy. The meals *are* very flavourful. I have chosen the "Carb Hater" meals. I get double veg instead of a side of rice or potato or pasta. They are delivered to my door, still warm, by one of Flava Daddy's drivers in a reusable bag. So I don't have to deal with another cardboard box or bags of ice. I've been getting deliveries of six meals a week for about three weeks and I'm loving it. They come in a semi-reusable Glad plastic container. The nutrition and macros etc aren't listed on the packaging. That's one downside. I think they estimate the Carb hater meals (on the website) as being between 300-450 calories. I'd prefer a more exact breakdown. A better website would be another plus. As is, you can buy your subscription online and you don't need to make any calls but a more in depth site that is a tad easier to navigate would be beneficial. For a local business option in the prepared meal delivery area I would recommend Flava Daddy.

Despite the obsolute exterior, the gourmet store for chocolate lovers is well worth the visit. There is plenty of parking available at this eclectic mix of offerings at this mall. I am not a chocolate connoisseur, nor am I a particular fan of chocolate, but upon trying their Champagne Truffles, I was BLOWN AWAY. It was unlike any chocolate experience I had ever encountered. SO GOOD! This is my go to place for gifts for all the women in my life. I exclusively go for the truffles, as they have never done me wrong. They offer a variety of Truffles: Amaretto, Beurre, Champagne, Cognac, Cointreau and Don Juan. If my review was solely based on the truffles, I would give it 5 stars, but my review reflects the entire gourmet store experience. Every time I have made a purchase, I spent the extra dollars on the dainty packaging. It displays very well. On the other hand, the service, decor and furnishings did not exactly meet my expectations from a specialty store. All things being said, this is my go to place for gifts of chocolate.

I've stopped by this location a few times since we're always at Carlingwood, to pick up some vitamins I have a hard time finding elsewhere. I always have a moment of sticker shock, but then I remind myself that health is pricey (but so worth it!), and that compared to come other health stores, this place isn't actually that bad. Bonus? The staff here are lovely and really knowledgeable. So why the missing star? It's cramped in here folks. The space they have is small, and there's a ton of product, so the couple of aisle end up being really packed. Fortunately, the staff know where everything is, and I usually just ask for their help and they know exactly where it is. So they had the protein powder I was searching for (hemp, if you must know - chocolate) and snagged some vitamins. They threw in a free sample of a greens concoction that's quite pricey so that was lovely. In addition to vitamins, supplements and protein powder (of which they have a HUGE selection), they also have a bunch of organic hair and beauty products (including lots of Kiss My Face, which I love), salt crystal lamps, and some healthy, organic gluten-free foods. I like this place for its convenience, great staff and fairly reasonable prices. The first of the four was their discounting a product only to be charged full price at the cash. The next visit the clerk was rude over my ringing the bell for service. Then on Thursday i ask about buying the container of 4 salads and the manager tells me the price is $8.99 a pound so buying more will not save me any money. So i buy two salads. On Friday i go back to buy another salad only to be informed that the price is not $8.99 a pound but the smallest container is $6.20. When i explain what i was told the previous day, they treat me like i don't know what i am talking about. I will now shop at a store that has more consistent pricing policies.

What a great little find! Elderast is a small but mighty organic grocery store. They don't have too…read moremuch selection, but have a little bit of everything. Their prices are comparable to larger chain health food stores. I was super thirsty, so popped in for some kombucha. They only had 2 brands in their fridge: Pur Kombucha in a bottle, with 2 flavours ($4.49 each) and Live Kombucha in a can, with 3-4 flavours ($3.89 each). I opted for the bottle, but would have liked a bit more variety, but I totally understand that their space is small. I was helped by a super friendly staff, who was such a good ambassador for the store I thought he was the owner, but advised me that he was not. He told me about their fruits, vegetables, and fruit AND vegetables baskets that are available for home delivery. The produce is all organic and the price is pretty good ($30 for a small basket, $40 for a medium and $50 for a large). We already get a vegetable home delivery service directly from a local farm, but the fruit option is appealing. The staff member told me his name, but as I'm writing this review it has slipped my mind (sorry), but we chatted and he told me he is a commercial pilot and works at the store part-time. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable and an asset to the store for sure. The store is new as they only opened in December 2021. They are a great addition to the neighbourhood. Street parking only.
