    The lasagna
    Jen W.

We happened upon this place while wandering through Torino. It had a busy outside seating area, and multiple floors of tables inside. We thought we'd give it a try. It is after all Eataly which is known for it's food, right? After a bit of shuffling, we were seated outside. The menus are only in Italian. One for food offerings, the other for beverages and only one set per table so you have to share. Read fast people. A waitress came over, took our order and then apologized that we must pay first. Hmmm, that's odd and doesn't give a warm fuzzy feeling. What if I want to add to my tab later? It certainly gives the staff a break from having to 'check in' to be sure everything is fine. We ordered lasagna, carbonara, wine, and water. A small bag of bread was put on the table while we waited. The food came out very quickly. A little too quickly but it was only pasta right? The wine and water came out a little later. As for the lasagna, I can only say: don't. Just don't. It looked fine, but the consistency was mush. The pasta had no texture, body. The sauce and cheese melded together into a sort of thin gruel. If you have trouble with your teeth, or chewing in general, I can heartily recommend this dish. The piece was huge! I will give them that. It would easily have fed me for two days, maybe three. But after just a few bites, I couldn't make myself eat any more. My dining partner ordered the carbonara. She wanted the pasta dish with asparagus, but was told this dish was 'done', sold out. She was disappointed and ordered the carbonara as an alternate. While we waited for our dishes, another party was seated next to us; an Italian couple, and she ordered the pasta with asparagus, and was served the pasta with asparagus. Wait, what? Yup. Not sure what happened in the 4 minutes between our ordering and them being seated. Anyhow, back to the carbonara, it also did not 'pass muster' and both dishes were returned mostly uneaten. Which did not seem to phase the staff at all. They simply came by after a while and cleared the still full plates. So I guess this happens often? And speaking of the staff, no staff member made a visit to our table, not once, to be sure everything was fine. They were always pleasant when we did see them: being seated, taking our order and money, picking up the plates, giving directions to the bathroom. This is just a very low maintenance type restaurant. It was packed, inside and out, so there must be something to it. Not sure how it happened that we got such inedible food when other's seemed to be enjoying their meals. Oh, and if you are looking for the toilette, it is located on level -1, at the bottom of the staircase. Our bill came to just over €30.

This review is meant for all Ipercoop stores regardles where they are located…read more When you walk into a store and see a child's miniature pre-caste plastic toy pony/horse which actually costs a few cents to mass produce in China but in Ipercoop its on sale at 11 Euro's you know something is seriously wrong. Just for the record, this small plastic toys can be purchased in other parts of Europe for around 1.5 Euro. A walk around the children's toy section does nothing to make the situation better. None educational brand toys mass produced in Asia, in Ipercoop they are on sale at around 6-8 times what they should be. It does not matter which Ipercoop store in whatever city, the products prices are shocking, walk around, see mass produced low price products on sale for what are unbelievably high prices. Yes they are nicely presented and stacked on the store shelves but that does not justify the unbelievably high prices. Synthetic mass produced shirts being offered for a sale price which in other countries would purchase up to six of the same product. The price tags on clothing, food products, on everything were shocking. The more I looked at the prices in this store the more confused I became, I kept asking myself how is it possible that this store is not under investigation by some government authority? Generally there were far to few customers in the store when considering this is a big store on par in size with Tesco from the UK, or Geant or Carrefour from France, or any other number of large supermarket outlets around the world. I see comments here in the reviews which describe Ipercoop as moderate for product prices, either those reviewers have never been to a different supermarket or they are writing as paid reviewers because nothing about Ipercoop is moderately priced. A bargains area in the store offered a cheap assemble at home small single room wardrobe which looks identical to the cheap mass produced models sold in DIY stores for around 37 Euro, at sale price Ipercoop were asking 139 Euro's. A busy customer complaints and refunds desk was the center of activity in the store. Italians deserve better from a store, they deserve the correct prices for products, as a writer I feel highly motivated to ensure this store receives thousands of honest reviews till such time it's management understand that their idea of supermarket prices are unacceptable. This is an outlet I am willing to give limitless on line reviews about, I have a social conscience and when I see what I have seen I know it must be stopped. Suppliers of products to this store from all regions of the world will be informed about how much this store is asking from customers and those suppliers will be urged to challenge this or stop supplying unless they to want thousands of honest reviews about them on the WWW. I will not confine myself to reviewing via YELP unless they honestly publish my reviews, this is a good chance for YELP to prove themselves. In the meantime lets get the word press account busy as options for creating review websites are limitless.
