It's given the opportunity and the manager doesn't care. So here's what happened. My car had been worked on the week before, so apparently that disconnected the battery which resets something in the car, which in the end doesn't allow the smog machine to actually test whether or not you pass or fail. I didn't know this until they told me and charged me $50. So I asked them did my car fail smog and they said no they just couldn't test it. So why did they charge me $50? Because they could and they wanted to. Every other place I called said they wouldn't have charged for that. Because they actually didn't run the test. They were bad about it - to be blunt. So I found another guy who I really like, who is honest, and who won't charge you or me $50 to tell you he can't test your car. That's the kind of decency I'm looking for. So I'm going to One Man Smog from now on. This is an expensive lesson to learn that All Star Smog is a bad business.

My whole visit took maybe an hour. What really made this place stand out was the waiting room. It was decorated like a 1950s diner, resplendent with a self-serve coffee bar, filtered water fountain for hot and cold water and plenty of refreshments. The room was air-conditioned with a cute little table in the middle and plenty of seating despite the small space. It's perfect if you're planning to stay and wait. It was early in the day, so I took a walk around since it's in the heart of Old Town, near all sorts of wonderful little businesses. As such, they gave me a call upon service completion.

Went there to transfer a title into my name last week. Charged me $80 for the service. The person…read morewho printed out my registration card spelled my last name wrong, blamed it on autocorrect and said the system wouldn't let her correct it that day. So she made a copy of my DL and took my number down so that she could call me when she was able to correct it the next day. Waited til the next day.. and nothing. So I decided to call the office. First she said she had just gotten into the office and she was gonna do it later. Which the office had already been open for at least a few hours. Then she said was was just too busy.. then she said she would do it on her free time.. sounded like a bunch of excuses. And they were a bunch of excuses. Got my title and the name is still spelled wrong. She never fixed it. Probably because she didn't have any "free time" to do the job she was paid to do. What if I went to work, was getting paid for it, and my employer told me to do my job and I responded with... ohhh well I just been to busy, I'll do it on my free time? I probably wouldn't have that job anymore. Cause Id be fired. Also, when she printed it out and said she would fix it later, for some reason, I knew she wasn't going to fix it. Now I'm at the DMV, Trying to correct her mistake. I wasted time and money. Because she didn't have free time to do her job. And I am definitely not going back there even if it's free because she just might have more excuses and waste more time.
