It's interesting this location is able to say Baltimore and not South Pennsylvania - it's located a bit outside of the downtown metropolitan Baltimore area in my opinion.

If you look at all of my reviews over the last several years, most of them are quite positive and…read moreget four or five stars. And then there's Embassy Suites by Hilton Baltimore Hunt Valley in Cockeysville, Maryland. As Bette Davis used to say, "What a dump!" I'm only giving it one star so I can justify writing a Yelp review about it. The only photo I'm going to include is the photo of the sticker they gave me for the outrageous parking fee they charged me on top of their outrageous hotel room fee. That's all they deserve! Let me explain. We had a family B'nei Mitzvah in Baltimore and I thought staying a little bit out of the city would save me some money. I also wanted to be near the family so I begrudgingly rented a room at the Embassy Suites for a freaking $250 a night. I was in shock. The only thing that kept me going was knowing that I was going to be blown away by the amenities for this very expensive hotel. Boy was I wrong! Embassy Suites, how did you fail so miserably? Let me count the ways... First of all the price. You have got to be kidding? $250 for one night to lay in a bed. I thought I would at least get a massage or a valet for that price but all I got was a card key and broken elevators that didn't work half the time and if they did work, would take about 15 minutes to get to your floor. The room was fine but it was a basic king bed with a place to sit. How in the world that is $250? I have no idea. The toilet seat was so low that you were almost sitting on the ground. I'm a fit man and I had to boost and pull myself up. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for the elderly or somebody who is struggling with mobility. They need to fix that immediately. My daughter crashed for a couple of hours in my hotel room and laid down on the couch and I could not find one spare single blanket or sheet to cover her so I covered her with a towel. Absurd!! They boast a swimming pool, but both times I went to it, it was closed. Parts of the hotel looked a little dingy and dirty to me considering their exorbitant price. Breakfast was acceptable and might even be good if it wasn't $250 a night. What really pissed me off was there was a separate station if you wanted a piece of bacon. The problem was it was the same line for The omelet station. So you literally had to stand online for about a half hour to get a piece of bacon. Ridiculous! The icing on the cake was the audacity of the hotel to charge me $12 a night in addition to their outrageous fee to be able to park my car in a massive parking lot that obviously is not controlled. I should have just lied and told her I came by Uber but by speaking the truth she gave me some flimsy green ticket and charged me an additional $24. They should be ashamed of themselves! If you are going to be that exorbitant, charge me $275 and have it include parking. My family had issues with the air conditioning as well and it was never fixed. I'm sorry, but $250 for one night to sleep in a bed is outrageous enough, but if you are not going to back it up with a spanking new hotel with wonderful amenities, you need to lower your price or shut down. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. I will never recommend nor stay at this Embassy Suites again and I'm sorry I wasted my money and got ripped off. This hotel and this experience gets one star!

The hotel's automated system charged us $300 for a "smoking" fee. Nobody was smoking in the room,…read moreand nobody was even present in the room during the time their system says this occurred. We attempted to talk to front desk staff about this, and they directed us to email a manager - who was mysteriously not present on any day we were there. A month later, we follow up as the manner has still not been resolved, and it turns out the "manger" we were told to email no longer even works at this hotel! We then attempted to talk to a manager again (now a month later) and the hotel refused to let us speak to management. Between the random automated charge, and the fact that hotel is refusing to speak to us about it, is very shady practice. Bordering on scam. After talking to staff over the phone for the 4th time, a manager finally called back, and he had the audacity to hang up after ONE ring. (we tried to answer, but he hung up). This person, Malcolm, then emailed right after saying he attempted to contact us, claiming we did not answer. Ridiculous. This hotel has no problem throwing random charges onto your account. And if you want to question it, the entire staff has seemingly been told to deflect, and deny. We will be escalating this to corporate, as the hotel staff/management has given us the run-around for over a month as we've tried to resolve this in a civil manner. If you are considering a stay here, consider staying somewhere else. EDIT: The actual manager of the hotel, Yolanda, has finally emailed us, and acknowledged the failure by hotel staff to handle the situation effectively. It turns out "Malcolm" was not actually the manager, and was just a random staff member who attempted to pose as the manager to me over the phone. After looking into it, Yolanda said, "There was a refusal to speak with you. That's not how we handle any of our guests so I was very shock to hear this happened." (a direct quote from her email) And a $300 refund has finally been processed by the hotel.

Great hotel near Dulles..... will definitely stay again!…read more I spent a week here for business and had a great experience. The hotel is very conveniently located near Dulles Airport, which made travel super easy. The rooms were spotless and nicely decorated. The amenities are excellent .There's a nice bar where I had a few drinks, watched a football game, and met some great people. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One of the best parts is the complimentary made-to-order breakfast and the evening reception, which includes two drinks and snacks. A nice touch that made the stay feel even more welcoming. The onsite restaurant is also a big plus. The only downside is the parking fee - $24 a day feels a bit steep. All in all, I have no complaints and will definitely stay here again when I'm back in the area next month.

We were charged for audiovisual services that were not functional when our seminar began. Staff onsite were unable to operate the equipment and acknowledged they were not trained. We had to bring in outside equipment at our own expense to keep the event going. The hotel later refunded the AV charge, but refused to cover the additional cost we incurred due to their failure. Even more concerning was the behavior of the Catering Manager, who was confrontational and unprofessional in front of guests and staff. This included a heated exchange that was visible to attendees and others present, including representatives from a nonprofit organization we were supporting. That level of conduct is not what you expect when hosting a professional event. This property has a lot of potential, but based on this experience, I would be very cautious about hosting an event here without clear assurances around on-site management.

When I arrived at check-in time, my Digital Key wasn't ready and I had to wait 30 mins in the lobby until the room was ready. They did clam to refund the parking fee ($17) for the inconvenience so that's nice. The room itself was fine. Though they didn't have linens for the pull out sofa bed nor did they have shampoo in the shower. The toilet handle was malfunctioning and the shower drain was wacky too so those were minor inconveniences. Beds were comfy and the room was fine so good there. The pool was closed starting on Christmas Day to January 31. No reason was given. I'm not blaming them for it but it was a bummer for my kids. Fitness Center was there too but I can't comment on it as we didn't use it. The evening complimentary reception was decent. Adults get two free alcoholic beverages and kids have their choice of unlimited juices of soda. The food was tortilla chips, veggies, fruit, cookies (which ran out and not replaced), and cheese/crackers. Breakfast consisted of made to order food as well as a buffet of sorts. Eggs, potatoes, chicken sausage, and biscuits/gravy were the hot food choices. Bagels, fruit, and cereal other options as well. No waffle maker in sight which is unusual for Hilton hotels. All in all it was a decent stay and is conveniently right off 95. Would I come here again if I need too? Maybe, but it wouldn't be something I'd be over the moon looking forward to.

Spacious room. Two TVs were great, the room had some broken items but maintenance was quick to pick up and fix, and the staff at the desk tried to help provide supplies and make sure we were ok with the room; almost always easy to get in touch with them. Close walk to the restaurants nearby - the whole area has been built up, lots of data centers. No restaurant from what I could tell? A little pricer than the Homewood Suites next door.

The room I was in had a light switch hanging unsecured out of the wall that will eventually really badly hurt someone or start a fire. Half of the lights in the room were burned out, making it tough to get around. The walls are paper thin, so I got to hear every word the people next to me said...all flippin' night. No basic Diamond perks like a bottle of water. Parking is $12 despite not being near anything, so the fee is purely a superfluous surcharge.

Compared to other Embassy Suites, this one didn't quite hit the mark…read more We unfortunately were dealing with a flood issue and were displaced for weeks from our apartment. I chose this hotel due to my love of Embassy Suites (great room sizes for the money and the free breakfast buffet!), as well as its proximity to things we needed. Let's start with the overall look. This hotel looks dated in a lot of areas. Rickety elevators, dented and chipped wood, the whole hotel is in need of a renovation. However you still get the usual Embassy Suites suite experience and the room was a decent size with a common room and a bedroom. The front desk experience was uneven. Depending on when you catch the staff, you might get friendly service or you might get a bit standoffish service where they don't really seem to want to be there. When I first got there Friday early morning after a long night of traveling and a week of working at a conference, I was exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep. I was given a mini lecture about why I didn't call to let them know I'd be arriving the next morning. I didn't really think I had to do that since I paid for Thursday night onwards, so why does it matter if I came Friday morning due to the flight. Then my one credit card didn't work (due to a separate security/freeze issue, not their fault) and I had to switch cards. Again, just not very friendly. However there were other times when we had friendlier experiences during the two weeks when we needed towels/soap/etc. Which brings me to... Housekeeping - It was okay, but why are they so stingy? Whenever they came to do the room, we'd get just two towels. I don't think it costs that much to go crazy and add a third towel. Our shampoo and soap ran out and we had to ask for more, they didn't just refill it when they were doing the room. We had to ask for more toilet paper all the time because we'd get one roll. I really just wish they'd fully stock everything every time and it would have cut down on the many requests I had to make. Breakfast buffet: This was one of the weakest breakfast buffets I've experienced at an embassy. No fresh fruit aside from maybe bananas and apples, and for the most part it was the same food every day with maybe a slight variation. The guy who ran the omelet station most of the time was really good and personable though. Kudos there!! But you do have to get your potatoes from that station as well. It should in my view be placed separately. I also wish there was a small grace period instead of everything rapidly shutting at 9am. People were scrambling to try to get some food at literally 9:01. Just keep it open an extra few minutes to let people finish, and maybe keep the coffee out all day. Happy Hour: You don't pick embassy for the happy hour but it wasn't bad. The drinks tasted like... free drinks would taste. You had some snacks and spinach artichoke dip. Laundry room: We made heavy use of the laundry room since we were here multiple weeks. For the most part it was fine but one day some inconsiderate person left their clothes in both dryers. We waited for hours for them out of courtesy before we finally took their clothes out to put ours in. An eight floor hotel full of people, yet treating it like your own personal laundry room, not great. Overall, a passable place to be forced to spend two weeks while being displaced, but it is the weakest Embassy Suites I've stayed at.

Clean room but very dated--scratched cabinetry and the shower looked like it may have been painted…read moreover mold. The convenience store was also poorly stocked, mostly just drinks and snacks, with no basic travel essentials or over-the-counter medications like Tylenol available. The biggest issue was the breakfast buffet. It was very busy with kids serving themselves, touching food, and the serving utensils/area looked unclean with food residue. It seemed understaffed and not well maintained. I didn't feel comfortable eating there and had to eat out every day, which was disappointing since breakfast is why I usually choose Embassy Suites. I've had much better experiences at other locations. Front desk staff was very nice, but the elevators smelled like marijuana daily, which also took away from the stay. Overall, disappointing experience.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Alexandria Old Town - April 2026…read more In planning for a 2026 visit from my sister, we focused on how best to experience the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. She would be arriving on Amtrak from Wilmington, and my apartment is in Old Town Alexandria, so we looked for hotels adjacent to Metro's King Street station (which serves Amtrak, the VRE, and the Yellow and Blue rail lines, in addition to several bus lines. There are several excellent hotel choices at King Street station, but one that stands out is the Embassy Suites, right across the street from the Amtrak/Metro rail station. The hotel is family-friendly, spacious, clean, and safe. There's a wonderful made-from-scratch breakfast for all guests, along with a 90-minute happy hour featuring complimentary drinks (2 per person) in the early evening. My sister's room was ready when we arrived at around 3 p.m., and as we checked her in we found the room's TV welcomed us by name. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was equipped with sustainable dispensers for the shower (no single-use plastics in the room). The room was quiet and remained that way throughout the two nights my sister stayed there. During our stay the presence of families with young children was evident - kids were clearly enjoying themselves and were exploring features of the hotel geared especially for young children. We found hotel staff members helpful, not intrusive, and alert to the needs of the hotel's guests. On the same street half a block away there's Theismann's Restaurant & Bar, which offers a full bar and a well-crafted menu of moderate- to high-priced American dishes. I've recommended nearby hotels in the past, and those recommendations remain. I can now add the Embassy Suites to the list. It offers ready access to the entire District-Maryland-Virginia region served by Metro and related regional public transit services, and is a great point of embarkation when exploring Northern Virginia and D.C.

During my stay I did not have any noise problems. At times a stray door slam as they are not soft close doors. I was surprised that the cleaning crew came in and made my bed and straightened things up during my two night stay. I really appreciated that. The front desk staff were helpful and engaging.'bonus that they will hold your bags after checkout so we could walk around before our train departure. We did take advantage of the breakfast. It was actually pretty decent. I opted for a few hot items, a blueberry muffin and oatmeal. It was good. I also had the opportunity to eat a little dinner in the restaurant area. We opted for chicken nachos. They were delicious. My friend opted for a glass or wine and I downed water after water. Our waitress was so kind. We had the whole room to ourselves. I took a star away due to the appearance and condition of the hot tub. It really could have used a good skim, and the cement wall really needed a good scrub. Overall a great stay and I would stay again.
