The food: absolutely amazing! We ordered the lamb roganjosh, the tandoori prawns, and the special biranyi as well as the garlic coriander naan and the samosas. The ambiance here is absolutely gorgeous. The decor is stunning! Food definitely could be at a better price point. I was shocked when rice did not come with a main entree. I have had Indian food all over the world and have never had a situation when I had to pay extra to have a side of rice with a main entree that close more than $17. We started with the char grilled prawns. Two prawns were filtered and butterflied. Beautiful taste and presentation. Chicken saag was very flavorful (not hot) and chicken very tender. We were not provided water when we sat down, just the original drinks that we ordered. Definitely understaffed - one waitress for the entire restaurant. When finally received our dessert menu, NOT ONE INDIAN DESSERT ON THE MENU. I had asked and I received an answer that it may not cater to the Irish customers and second person just laughed that it wasn't offered. What???? We paid $45 for one entree, one appetizer and two beers. Staff really took their time here and it felt like we were display for the window to bring in customers. All the appetizers and Entree tasted amazing! Eastern Tandoori is a must visit if you love Indian Cuisine. The restaurant is very clean and has very clean rest rooms. The staff are all very professional and genuinely care about their customers. It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, lived in the United States for over thirty years and served with the United States Marines all over the world. I definitely know a great Indian Restaurant from all my travels and life experiences. You definitely won't be disappointed. I definitely will return in the near future. It's hard to believe we came from Oregon to Galway for the best Indian food we've ever had. My wife is vegetarian and it's pretty hard to find a meal that is not make of stewed vegetables or salad with extra strong goat cheese. The bread was amazingly fresh, the flavors of all or dishes were distinct and tasteful while not being overpowering. I had the kazana lamb and she had the vegetable curry with kaitha. The vegetables would have been better if steamed then placed on top of the sauce to prevent over cooking Still. It was really exactly what we wanted. Well, I did enjoy it while it was my wife's first real meal in the past week. I'm still getting some fish n chips n a pint tomorrow! read more

This is certainly the most disappointing Indian food I've had. Entree prices of 16-20€ (NOT including drinks) suggest a high quality dish but this was not the case. Our dishes were super creamy and had no taste or spice. That is too bad because the garlic naan was pretty good and the general ambience actually quite comforting. Not the best Indian restaurant in the world. I have eaten here several times as the people I go to visit are very keen on this restaurant. The tandoori mackerel is probably the best thing on the menu. The mains are what you would have got in the UK twenty years ago. Various meats with gloopy sauce.
