Malai Kofta - cheese and grated potato balls filled with nuts in a creamy flavorful sauce, Palak Aaloo - potatoes with spinach, Vegetable Korma - mixed vegetables and nuts, Rogan Josh- lamb curry cooked with yogurt and heavy spices, and several other meat dishes I can't remember. Immediately I felt like I was cheating on Kohinoor. I even parked several blocks away from Saffron, wore my sunglasses all the way inside, and kept checking over my shoulder in case anyone should see where I was going... But that was the end of my dubious behaviour because Saffron was delicious in every sense of the word! We were a party of 9 and ordered several dishes and shared them family style. There were several lamb and seafood dishes on the table, but I sat toward the vegetarian side and feasted on malai kofta (my favorite), pumpkin masala (oh my word, incredibly hot!), aloo gobhi, (cauliflower and potato, mouth on fiiiiiyahhhhh), vegetable biryani, and we ordered naan after naan after naan after naan (to soak up the red hot flame in my mouth), with my favorite being the cheese naan and the masala kutcha (I could eat this every day and never tire of it) and the ever so cooling raita. We were having second thoughts of coming in because when we looked at the menu, the prices went up. We used to get a decent delicious meal for the price of $10, but now, one dish w/out rice costs at least $12.99. We gave it a go thinking that they may offer great tastes like Riks Maha. Unfortunately not. The buttered chicken I ordered was too salty. The saffron rice was salty too. The mango lassi was quite ok but nothing spectacular. It was served in a plastic cup as if it was bought from the super market, considering that we're dining-in, I suppose they should've served it in a proper glass? The only thing I really liked was the garlic pita bread. Sadly, the dining experience was not enjoyable because we waited for almost 30minutes to get served such food. I was satiated, because I was hungry, but was definitely not satisfied.
