Today i choose to float the saco, unfortunately 2 of the tubes burst during the float, due to the water being low. Which as we all know if you have ever floated before, unexpected issues happen. It is also part of life. We were forced to come to an immediate stop! We got off in an unscheduled area. It was eastern slope camp ground. I was with 3 children and 3 adults. We gathered as much of our stuff as we could and tried to condense it. Two of our children walked ahead. If you have children then im sure you know, aunt/uncle, or parent this happens. I left them with the deflated floats, told them to sit for a second at the entrance. Yes we realized this was a campground, we did not realize it was private property, but we were hopefully looking for a little compassion. As i walked back towards the other two adults and child, to help them, one of our children comes running towards up abruptly. We ask what is wrong? He informs us that a female who works there was extremely rude to them, told them to go back down to the water, pack up there stuff, there is no ubers etc. now i do agree that we were unaware, but please and i can not stress this enough!!! Do not address our children. We are adults, if you greet us with kindness, we will respond the same. At this time we come up on the woman who is raising her voice and letting us know that people do this all the time, get out, walk your stuff back down know, go back where you came from etc. there was not a single sign posted saying no river access entry, which i would highly recommend posting! Especially if you run a place/ are an establishment in a tourist area. I try to explain to the woman our current situation. I am met with complete disrespect! i understand that this may happen all the time and can be taxing on a business to have to constantly repeat. We apologize, it was obviously not our choice. We end up finding a ride out via uber. We did try to walk back to the water, but let's be honest, where would that have left us? Just as stranded and still on their property! So we did break the rules, again I apologize. Once we get back to our location i call, obviously unhappy, because i wanted to let Michelle (that was the women's name, i found out after) how poorly we were treated, and how a little kindness can go a long way. Unfortunately once again she was instantly rude. I asked her do you have children? Do you understand we were not deliberately disrespecting you or your establishment? She asked for my address and if she could trespass on my property lol, still so combative. At the end of the day, i wished her and her family the best, i told her that if her family was ever faced with a hardship, i truly hope she was greeted with the same compassion she had shown mine. Positive breeds positive, so i will never wish her a bad day, or put that negativity into the world. But i will write this yelp, because i think people should know, if you are a family orientated establishment, you should act as one. read more
