I wanted to post about an unfortunate experience with the staff in this Drs office in the event…read moreit can help someone else from making the same mistake. My wife's experience with Bayside Women's Health was an absolute nightmare. She reached out in dire need of assistance as a current patient, only to be callously dismissed with the suggestion to visit the ER if the pain was that bad. The funny part is, they said they were only seeing emergencies!! Anyway, we all know the ER would have just sent her right back to her OBGYN, rendering their advice utterly pointless. Out of sheer frustration, I called on behalf of my suffering wife to clarify their definition of an emergency because what she was told was easily the most moronic statement ever said with a straight face. The office manager here didn't appear to appreciate being called a moron,so I informed them that we would "See them soon" to retrieve her records in an attempt to get a last-minute appointment anywhere else. But instead of addressing our concerns like decent human beings, they promptly dropped her as a patient stating that I threatened their staff!!! What was my threat you might ask? "WE WILL SEE YOU SOON" when in fact she did see her soon, as I described, to get her records. If you care for your health, whether it be a check up or if you have something seriously wrong, you are better off at one of the Fairhope Veterinarians before coming to this place. The office manager and staff here all clearly peaked in high school and it shows given they only care about the drama they create in the office. I know I'm mad and so don't take my word for it. Look at the other Google reviews. This is without a doubt the worst possible Dr's office experience ever and that is saying A LOT! But at the very least should you decide to go here, do not tell them you are on the way or they will consider that a threat and drop you. I've never threatened anyone in my life and I'm not about to start with someone that is supposed to be helping my wife. The worst part is this doctor apparently took the office manager's word  without any other discussion. Now I think we see the problem. Dr, if you're reading this, dismiss my concerns, that is fine. But where there is smoke, there is fire. Read the many other concerns about your front desk staff and office manager on Google reviews because they are running off your patients. To make matters worse, they then didn't call to cancel her appointment and waited to embarrass her in person while still in pain and told her to leave the office. This is a violation of patient's rights and Bayside Women's Health has been reported to the Alabama medical board . They clearly know they violated her rights too given the letter we just received . Unfortunately for them, it's dated AFTER they refused care and told her to leave. So instead of her getting care here, I ended up meeting a nice attorney instead. Luckily we did find a place to see her and it looks like we dodged a bullet leaving this "practice"

If I could give negative stars I would. 5 years ago I was 19 years old pregnant with my first baby…read more My pregnancy was going very smooth until week 36 I had elevated blood pressure. It wasnt too elevated considering they never mentioned it to me until the following week at my 37 week visit. They took my blood pressure and told me it was elevated "again". Dr Nelson scheduled me for an induction that night. We're gonna fast forward to my 2nd pregnancy were I had preeclampsia and dealt with high blood pressure the entire pregnancy. Now dealing with that I now know there was absolutely no reason for me to be induced at 37 weeks for elevated blood pressure. I get to the hospital at 8:30pm June 19th and start the induction process. I get woken up the next morning to dr Nelson checking me to see if I've dilated any.. as he is checking me (my kids father was asleep on the couch) Nelson causally says out loud "okay we're breaking your water" I was still half asleep and had no idea what was going on as I was new to this all and only 19. My contractions started almost immediately but I had to sit through 3 bags of fluids before I could receive my epidural. I labored almost all day. I had nurses come in and out checking me and checking on me never once did dr Nelson come to check on me. I remember him telling the nurses when he broke my water to call him "when the baby is here". I got to 10cm and I started to see the nurses look of concern on their faces. My baby was sunny side up. He was too far into the birth canal to try to turn him. Dr Nelson along with the hospital let me push for 3 1/2 hours. He wasn't budging. Dr Nelson gets the nurses to get a vaccum to try and help him out. It popped off of my child's head over 19 times (they stopped counting after 19 attempts..). My sweet baby boy was finally here black and blue from head to toe with bruises and purple from the lack of oxygen. They threw a blanket over his little face let me give him a kiss and they rushed him to the nicu. He was in there for 36 hours. I'm so thankful my son is still here with me today. 5 years later I'm pregnant with my 3rd child and I've been asked my history with my previous births. I tell the them the story and their faces drop as they tell me what Dr Nelson did was very much illegal and I'm lucky to even have my child with me here today. My child today has been diagnosed with a touch of cerebral palsy from his traumatic birth. The left side of his body is pretty stiff but with therapy he is exactly where he needs to be. He also has a learning disability along with a speech delay. 5 years later and I still get anxiety thinking about what I experienced with Dr Nelson. I've haven't even mentioned the awful nasty things he said to me while I was in labor.. like that I needed to quit screaming and get it together (I let out a grunt not a scream) also he told me over and over again that I wasn't pushing right making me feel very defeated and like it was my fault my baby wasn't coming out. The most unprofessional and uncaring man I've ever came across in my life. With my 2nd born I was terrified to give birth and was even more terrified when I found out it was another man who was going to deliver my baby. Everything went perfect and he made me feel so comfortable with him. I don't know what else I can do other than warn any other woman not to let this man near them. He doesn't care about you or your child.

We have made a plan and it does not include a hysterectomy and is based on facts and my individual situation, not on how many surgeries he can perform. He is doing what is best for me. He was very easy to talk to, answered all of my questions and I have no doubt, will take good care of me and my health. I am so fortunate to have found him, with Yelp. Staff is super nice too! Medical Park OB/GYN is awesome!
