Lannon's Animal Hospital - Emergency Vet-Elizabeth City,NC. He's never been this relaxed. They are Phenomenal!!!

The beginning of February 2026 I came home to a significant amount of blood and exudate coming…read morefrom my dog's rectum. I called Dr's Lannon's and asked for advice and asked if we could have my dog seen. We sent pics and received a response basically blowing us off. We sought an online vet and ultimately after jumping through a lot of hoops have been treating him with antibiotics and steroids with slight improvement. Dr Lannon's current staff implied we were lying about his treatment and to return to where we took him because there's no way we could get steroids by mail in NC which is accurate information(we had it mailed to family in FL and sent here). We've also been told due to my dog's size to seek treatment elsewhere but when my husband dropped by in person to discuss the matter there was a Neapolitan Mastiff larger than our dog waiting to be seen. Go figure. Prior to this incident, We've been limping along since COVID knowing he's not really a favorite of the office since some of the previous vet techs that he liked have left the practice. After this ordeal, there's absolutely no way I would recommend wasting your time or theirs which is what it would turn into if you bothered trying to have your pets treated there. I trust Dr Lannon 100 % but her current staff is lacking honesty, integrity ,and the grit it takes to be in the industry. They've had some great techs=Chris Haupu, Mary & Zoey were excellent and understanding with my dog and are sorely missed. I understand why techs are nervous about dealing with large breeds but, I have an email from that my dog is welcome, but his chart is marked that he's not. All the current staff can assume is to be fearful, and in that case they might as well work with bunnies. I admit my dog becomes temperamental when his feet or nether regions are examined but his chart is marked accordingly. There was an appointment in the past that his chart was ignored and a minor incident occurred. Things happen when you deal with animals, and we've done everything in our power to ensure that all staff is reminded not to ignore our safety warnings and we basket muzzle him for everyone's safety and we also offer to be on standby to render any assistance needed. I'm in patient care and have had large animal experience(I've had horses and been around animals my entire life), and my pet is 150 lbs so we understand the importance of safety. My boy would never intentionally want to hurt anyone. He's reactive, and we want to make sure everyone is safe. I'm disappointed to say the very least , and I don't want anyone else or their pet to suffer the pain and the wait that we've endured. I've tried to do my best to handle this on my own but, there's only so much I can do. Update:I finally took him to the emergency vet and he has CANCER(Two Tumors). They were phenomenal w/him. They loved him and he loved them. Just goes to show what having the right environment will do, now we can move forward finding him the treatment he deserves so, that hopefully he can go on and live out his best life. Update:Pasquotank Animal Hospital: Dr Blake Lucas saw my boy on Tuesday 4/14/26. He was comfortable, and again so much so laid down, relaxed and went along w/the program. The vet tech loved him, and they got on just fine. He ended up having surgery the same afternoon. Thanks to Dr Lucas and staff for listening to concerns, heeding our cautions w/regards to his reactive tendencies when his touchy feet and "personal areas" are dealt with, and for treating my boy and us w/professionalism and respect. It is much appreciated!!!!

After taking our dog here for years they refused to treat her today. The tech Sully had an awful…read morebedside manner and was completely insensitive to my dog who needed relief from her swollen ear. The front desk staff is very nice however and were very sweet when I was upset over the mistreatment of their patient. I also will say I have never spoken to the vet here only the techs which is also concerning.

My absolute favorite doggy daycare. Make sure you take advantage of a referral. Let them know I…read moresent you ! If I could give more than 5 stars, I'd break Yelp's rating scale. This doggy daycare is the ultimate luxury retreat for pups--think canine country club with heart. From the moment I (Lexi the Bougie BT) strut through the doors, I'm treated like the royalty I am. The entire staff is amazing--genuinely loving, attentive, and totally in tune with every dog's personality. But the real stars of the show? Anthony and Michael, the owners, are top-tier, hands-on, always-on-site superheroes. They're there every single day--greeting us with love, making sure every detail is flawless, and creating an environment that feels like home... but better. But don't you worry, they even have cameras so that you can watch from home? And oh baby, the perks of this place: * Pool Days (yes, I splash with my squad) * Treat Parties * Photoshoots (hello, content!) * Outdoor Activities * My Boston Terrier crew--yes, I roll with a whole Boston gang! But that's not all... this place has a full-on doggy spa. * Nail trims * Ear cleanings * Teeth brushing * Luxurious baths and blowouts It's giving "spa day meets play day" and I'm absolutely here for it. And if you're traveling? No problem--they offer overnight accommodations so your pup can stay safe, comfy, and loved while you're away. No crates, no worries--just snuggles and structure. This isn't just doggy daycare--it's a lifestyle. A wellness center. A social club. A pampering palace. I go every day and I genuinely LOVE it. If you're looking for a place that will care for your pup like family, keep them active, clean, stylish, and social--this is it. It's always tough leaving the pups, especially when I've had bad boarding experiences in the past…read more This was the first time I didn't feel stressed leaving them! I received updates and pictures everyday. I could tell the staff cared for my dogs, as if they were their own fur babies! Their communication and flexibility made the boarding process so easy. I will be sending my dogs here every time!

So grateful to have found this dog ranch run by Krista and her staff! A neighbor recommended her to…read moreme. This was only the second time I had to board my unsocialized pup. I was so nervous but Krista was so welcoming and is practically an expert at interpreting dog behavior. I loved that we were able to do a meet and greet before my pups stay. She introduced her wonderful dogs to our dog and quickly determined our pup would be a good fit. She gave us a tour of the the dog ranch which was impressive. I was relieved my pup would have is own large temperature controlled room to sleep in. Their dog ranch is very organized, they have an excellent system in place and routine for the dogs, lots of play time! I love that the dogs can all play outside, and that I was sent pictures of my happy dog daily. When our stay was prolonged one day, Krista accomodated us and our pup was able to stay an extra night, I would recommend bringing extra dog food in case you may return a day later than anticipated. I liked that we were able to bring our pups kennel that he loves to sleep in and his bedding. My dog has some anxiety so Krista recommended bringing boiled chicken and rice in case he didn't want to eat, that was a great idea and I love that they have a fridge to keep pets food as well. I would definitely recommend Ballypines dog ranch to anyone who wants their pet to be well cared for. It was good to not be stressed about my pups stay away from us, I completely trust them with caring for my dog. I also like that they require dogs to have all shots including the flu vaccine, bordetella vaccine and a recent fecal/stool test. In this regard it may cost more than other dog boarding facilities (that's because this is nothing like your typically dog boarding facility ) and is definitely worth it so you know your dog is less likely to get sick during their stay. My pup was so tired for two days after he returned home because he had a blast playing all day! We are looking forward to his next stay!
