I have never met more pompous people in my life. This was my second attempt going here. These are not artists at all. They know "traditional style", I'll give them that. But present them with a challenge? They say no. This shows their inability to be creative, reputable artists. They're just drunk/high dudes who do their crappy best. I got a tattoo from Brandon 3 weeks ago. I had gone in a few days earlier to arrange for a consultation, and was told to come in on their walk in day (Saturday). I came in that day, and was assigned to Brandon. I showed them the image that I wanted, and waited while he made the stencil. the stencil was to my liking, and he got to work. placement was on my right pec. There was no discussion of what to expect with my skin type (I'm older), or whether he felt comfortable tattooing me. He didn't say much to me besides directing me where to keep my arms, turn my head etc. he really bore down hard during my basic black line tattoo. The tattoo was more painful that the last tattoo that I had on my left pec. He was sort of grunting and pushing down on my upper chest, almost like compressions. When I looked at the tattoo immediately after, it looked ok. within a day, it was clear that it is badly blown. at first I thought it was maybe bruising that would fade, but it is clear that it is blown. I'm not asking for anything from the shop, as I don't feel comfortable going back there. I went to another shop last week for a slight correction on my tattoo on my other pec, and the artists there agreed about the quality of the work that I got at east main ink. I did not name the artist or east main ink when discussing this with the other shop. read more

My fiancée and I are visiting from Texas and thought it would be a good idea to get a tattoo here. When we arrived we were quoted $120 each for our tattoos. After we were finished we were charged $200 per tattoo. A $240 memory turned into $400 in minutes. No one thinks that people will take advantage of someone at a tattoo shop but it goes to show you can never be too sure. My roommate and I decided to get tattoos together and I'm so happy we stumbled upon East Main Ink. This would be my first tattoo and we did a ton of research, making sure the tattoo place we chose was legit and had the artists of what we're looking for. To make an appointment, you have to actually come down to the shop and also put down at least $20 deposit. In the end my tattoo came out to be $100 including the deposit and tip. Regarding parking, they do have a small parking lot out front. Immediately when you walk in, there are pictures all over the wall and has a very chill vibe. The music they play is a mix of mellow and upbeat and the people there are very friendly and laidback. The person that did our tattoos was Greg. He was phenomenal. He offered great insights on how big the tattoo should be, if it was straight on my ankle, and made sure I was completely satisfied before he actually tattooed me. He made sure everything was cleaned before the next person was on the chair and even made sure the needle he used was not broken. He knew it was my first time and did a great job of calming my nerves and talking me through the entire process. He kept a great conversation going. Went in with 3 other people to get similar tattoos and he was awesome working with all of us to personalize each one and make it what we wanted! The process was fast and easy and everything was very well sanitized from what I saw! Terrible people. We drove 4 hours round trip on our anniversary for a wedding band tattoo. They took our deposit and told us, that we were fourth in line, right after they opened. After waiting in the car for an hour an half, we went in to check and they then informed us that they would call us 30 min before our slot. We tried to grab fast food then, run an errand, while continuing to check our phone. We waited till 8pm without them ever calling us. they had our deposit, knew we were out of town, and knew it was our anniversary. We had called and spoke with Dana a few times before making the drive. Apparently a small, but significant to us, tattoo isn't worth $$$ so they shirked us, but not before ruining 7 hours of our day more or less waiting in a car. They are arrogant and rude. read more

Justin is the man. He's a great artist that gives great input all the while listens to suggestions and makes the tattoo look great. He cares about the quality from start to finish.
