Was traveling back to the Twin Cities after a trip to Duluth and saw the billboard for this place…read more("You never SAUSAGE a place." That pun is a bit of a stretch, LOL.), so I decided to make the two mile detour to check it out, because if nothing else, my husband likes sausage and I figured I could bring him back something yummy. The very first thing I noticed upon arrival is the cute playground they have. If your kiddos need to stretch their legs, this is perfect. There's even old school play equipment like a metal slide, teeter totter, and merry-go-round that Gen Xers and early Millennials such as myself remember fondly and joke invite injury. Also stretching along through here is the Willard Munger State Trail! So if you were traveling that for recreation, TJ's Country Corner would be a perfect stop! The parking lot is a large dirt lot with no lines, so just park where makes sense. Once I parked I noticed they had a nice grassy spot with picnic tables and a pond with an old car that's been turned into a fountain! So funny. But a great spot to relax for a bit on a long drive, if you want. They also have a picnic shelter spot (labeled the "WURST DOME" lol) that they probably use when they're doing community events. This little spot kinda does it all, from what I can tell. They have gasoline, firewood, propane, bagged ice, and a mailbox out front. Inside it was like a mini grocery store with primarily canned/boxed goods, but also some frozen stuff. As advertised by the billboard, there was lots of flavors of sausage to choose from, as the sections of the establishment not available to the public are for meat processing. I noticed a sign on the checkout counter that you can bring in your own meat to have them turn it into sausage for you! Cool! I grabbed the cranberry wild rice sausage and I can tell you (having had it for breakfast this morning) it was indeed tasty! They also had liquor and ice cream. Their bathrooms are really dinky (and gender segregated, pointlessly, since there's not even space for a urinal in the men's that would justify said segregation) but clean and well-lit. The employee at checkout was friendly and in a bright mood.

The place looks great and the added dining room is very nice. Popcorn is available as you wait for your meal. A single waitress covered the entire restaurant with remarkable customer service. I added a star because of the improved service and the tasty burger. We had five people in our party and each raving the taste of the burger, onion rings, tater tots and sweet potato fries. As I perused the moderate selection I noticed the prices were on par with other liquor stores that I have been to. Then something caught my eye that got me really excited. There was quite a few 15 packs of beer that was on sale for $7.99 to $9.99. What a value! This place was great! I had low expectations but walked out with a smile and that's why I'm writing this review. This place should not be overlooked. I'm not sure who Al M. or Janelle W. is but I sense that they could be working for Moose Lake municipal liquor judging by their bad reviews and similar affinity for the Moose Lake liquor store. Service was very nice! Food was a 100/10!…read more But the catch is we had to wait a hour and a half for our appetizer to even show up. One hour and fifty minutes for a burger and pizza. There was a total of ten people in the whole place. Poor girl in the kitchen seemed like she was struggling. There is absolutely no reason that food should take two hours dang near to show up after ordering with so few people in the place. Sorry but don't show up here if you want to eat and go about your day. Plan on staying for a while.... Not impressed with that aspect. I'm not even mad just very disappointed.

Definitely not wood fired. Be busy. Take all the time you need to cook the food when people understand your busy. Just dont deliver garbage food and charge a premium for it. Just one mans opinion. Some of the worst wings I've ever had and I have had a lot. My recommendation. Skip the over priced crappy, soggy, wings. Pizza looked good however. Maybe they should stick to pizza. Leave the wings for restaurants who care.
