Their classrooms are fun, lively and connected. I love the playroom, library and neighborhood walks, water play, arts/crafts/routines. Amazing daycare!

We have now been at Rainbows End 10 months and are still loving it. My daughter is 18 months old…read morenow. She has moved to the young toddler room and does very well with the kiddos. They go on daily buggy rides outside. They also have a tumble play room inside that the kids love. In the young toddler room the center provides breakfast and snack. You pack the lunch. Each child has a cubby to keep their extra clothes and diapers in. We were going to take my daughter out of daycare for the summer because my hubby is a school teacher. She just loves it so much and we didn't want to get her out of the routine so we just decreased the amount of days per week that she is there in the summer. We still receive a daily report of how much she ate, diaper changes, and what she did all day.

This is a highly dysfunctional and verbally abusive environment. The staff do nothing but yell at…read morethe children to enforce a structure that is not healthy for a child's development. The children are forced to sit in squares next to each other, and are yelled at if they play with one another or chat with one another (something that is extremely important for a child's development). They have limited playtime, during which they are forced to go from one station to another (a station might be legos/blocks, pretend kitchen, etc.) and they get no more than five minutes to play before they have to clean up and move on. Consequently children in this environment have poor conflict resolution skills (because all the adults model to them is yelling at them). Do not send your children to these people.

This location isn't currently open. Regardless, I can't recommend this company. We had our kiddo…read morethere (he started a little after 12 months), and there was a range in the quality of teachers like at most other daycare. I did notice some teachers in the older kids' classrooms sharply yelling/screaming at kids from time to time (not what I wanted for our kiddo, but he wasn't in that room, so it was a "cross that bridge when we get to it" situation). The problem was the purposeful lack of communication and withholding of information. The director and company knew their lease was up. They knew their new space wasn't finished yet (literally not built, and no occupancy permit). They knew in January it wasn't going to be ready and ended up asking for lease extensions for about 4 months. They never told parents about this tenuous situation; it was always just, "oh, we'll be moving in [insert new month]." Not a word that construction wasn't even going on at the new place because BUILDING PERMITS hadn't been issued, and that they had no other backup plan. Well, the lease extensions ran out entirely and the building owner told them they had no more extensions and had to vacate. Did they tell parents? No. They waited until there was just 2 weeks before abruptly telling parents their only Pittsburgh location was closing. Oh, but we could request to be put into one of their suburban locations, the closest of which was 30 minutes+ each way with traffic (and at least 45 minutes driving near the end of the day because of rush hour). So, at least 2 hours each day of driving to/from daycare; out and back, out and back. Even getting a straight answer from them about which suburban location they'd place my son at was a nightmare. We had no other option, because they purposefully waited so long to tell us parents what they had known for months. We did the 2 hour drive for two weeks to see if it would work, while frantically searching for other daycares with open slots. The suburban location also treated anyone from the city like a second class citizen. Suburban staff acted like the Pittsburgh kids weren't their problem, they were just taking up space; it really seemed like there had been no planning or communication about the Pittsburgh kids coming. NO PLAN for parents to sign kids in and out; wouldn't let us use the electronic sign-in/sign-out system the suburban parents got to use, wouldn't give us door codes like we had at the other location and like they had for their suburban parents (until Pittsburgh parents repeatedly complained), no bins for kids to store stuff like extra clothes (and they literally had empty bins in my son's room; I heard a Pittsburgh teacher politely ask if they could use them for our kids since they were empty, and she was VERY FIRMLY shot down, "No. You CANNOT use them." No explanation.), not enough hooks, etc. for coats/hats/mittens, and they crammed all the Pittsburgh kids into one classroom regardless of age: infants, one year olds, and older toddlers all in the same room. Napping was a nightmare. I felt so bad for the Pittsburgh teachers. All in all, I wouldn't trust this company or the Pittsburgh Director (Maggie) again. The two stars is only because we had one excellent teacher who we really liked and miss. Hilarious note: the company employee's five star post was posted AFTER they closed this location.

Her communication is absolutely horrendous and extremely unprofessional. An alleged abuse incident involving my child and his behavioral tech occurred at the facility and was reported to DHS by daycare staff. Yet, Maggie - the director - never called us to tell us this happened. We only found out because DHS called us to come to our HOME and investigate. When we questioned Maggie about it she said, "I didn't want to bother you with it". Are you kidding me?!?!? Whether this report was unfounded or not, we - the parents - should have been notified. That's communication 101. This is just one example of her poor communication but I have an entire list. *Also... people who have been accused of child abuse work here. Leadership will tell you it's unfounded / retaliation between disgruntled teachers and maybe that's truebut I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

Our daughter started at Allie Alligator when she was just 3.5 months old. We truly loved her…read moreteachers--they've been wonderful, caring, and loving toward her. However, the lack of action from management has been incredibly disappointing and frankly, heartbreaking. Since April 1st, our now 14-month-old daughter has been bitten over 10 times. Of those bites, four broke the skin, one led to a thumb infection that she's still dealing with today, she was bitten twice in one day just two weeks ago, and today, she was bitten in the face. We know toddlers bite--it's developmentally normal--and we were more than understanding of a couple of incidents. But at this point, she is sustaining bites every week, sometimes multiple times per week, and it's gotten to the point where we fear for her safety every time we drop her off. After about the fifth bite, we brought our concerns to management and were told a "plan" was in place and that they were working with the parents. We're now almost a month out from that conversation, and nothing has changed. In fact, the bite pattern has gotten significantly worse. The bites now take nearly a week to heal, and because she's being bitten so often, she constantly has visible bite marks on her little body. Today, I got a call at work saying another child had bitten my daughter in the face. HER FACE. This is the 10th or 11th bite since April 1st. My husband went to speak with the office, expressed our concerns, and let them know our daughter would not be returning. He was met with, "I'm sorry you feel that way." Sorry we feel what? That our daughter isn't safe in your care? That we feel awful dropping her off each day, wondering what new injury she might come home with? That we expect better protection for babies who rely entirely on you to keep them safe? That response told us everything we needed to know about how seriously our concerns were being taken. We are devastated to be pulling her out of a place where she truly loved her teachers, but we can't keep her somewhere that fails to protect her and dismisses repeated, serious concerns. Please take this into account if you're considering this facility for your child. I do want to sincerely recognize Eva, Jill, and Maddie from the infant room, and Nadia, Anya, and Abi from the toddler room. These women have been phenomenal with our daughter. They are the reason we stayed as long as we did. They truly love and care for these kids like their own, and they deserve far better support from leadership.

Each baby has their own crib. Staff works on developmental skills with your child. The classrooms do have a lot of children but meet the state requirements for teacher to student ratio. KinderCare Wexford is the most poorly managed daycare I've ever seen. My spouse and I had our son…read moreenrolled in a KinderCare in Sterling, VA where he was happy. When we relocated to Pittsburgh last year, we figured the care would be similar when we transferred him into this KinderCare. We were so wrong! The worst thing is the director. She sends emails at least once (sometimes two or three times) a week asking parents to keep their children home. If she doesn't get enough "volunteers," she will close your child's classroom for a day - or two days - or even three days a week. The reason for these frequent closures surely cannot be that every teacher quits or calls off, but I believe she is a terrible manager, and good teachers leave or do not wish to work for her when she recruits. I fear she's created a reputation in the area, and good teachers aren't willing to take her job offers because she has created a hostile work environment. The children are the ones that end up suffering with all these frequent days off, and working parents (who are paying roughly $18,000.00 per year per child for the service) have to make snap last minute desperate decisions about what to do with their kids on a day that a room is closed. One time she sent at text message to parents at 8:10am. We had our son in the car seat, and we were on our way to the daycare with him when she closed his room with no notice. She appears terribly unfriendly, and we observed her wearing inappropriate political "Make Wexford Great Again" swag clothing to the parents' night. The center director's communication is awful, too. She frequently sends emails to parents with wrong dates and attachments, which causes confusion. Then she sends corrections that are still wrong. Usually she'll send a third message in all caps when she finally gets the dates, times, and spellings right. She even sent us one email that our son's room was closed, then proceeded to send a second email about a fundraiser within that very same hour. Who feels like giving anybody money when you're not getting the services the daycare promised? She also got us to sign up for Soccer Shots lessons on Wednesdays that cost about $130.00. That seems to be the day she closes our son's room most frequently. We paid for eight soccer lessons, and our son has only had one of them. When I asked for a refund on that, she ignored me. This place is dirty. They leave dirty buckets of mop water in the hallways on the rare occasion they actually use them. The kitchen isn't secured, and they have heating elements accessible where kids can wander in. The floors are filthy, and the kids play with toys that are falling apart. We decided on a new daycare center some time ago and only recently worked our way up the waiting list to where our son can start somewhere new next week. The last item is the curriculum. There is none. When other toddler classrooms are learning letters, numbers, and colors, the kids at this center are just being "babysat." At the other KinderCare center in Virginia where our son was enrolled, the teacher in the 12 mo - 18 mo room went over colors, numbers, and letters every morning. Now we get app updates that there is "free play" most of the day, some songs, and basic skills like changing shoes. If we were interested in this kind of babysitting, we'd be going to a non-academy setting that is far less expensive. Our son will be three, and he doesn't even recognize letters or numbers when we try to show him at home. My advice to anybody reading this is to stay away. KinderCare must replace this center's director, and new management must take over before anybody should be sending their children. I called their corporate offices to complain about the frequent closures, and the agent told me, "that's what we do." The agent suggested I call the regional director and gave me her number. I called twice and never received a call back. She only returned my message two weeks later, but we knew we were enrolling our son elsewhere by that point.

C&M daycare is bright & cheerful, clean, modern, well staffed, known as the daycare of the…read morePittsburgh Pirates. The staff is attentive & caring. It follows state laws carefully. But is it right for your child? My grandson did not hit, kick or bite others, didn't call names. He just didn't always listen. He was 2 going on 3 when C&M marked him as an issue. He was very "busy", into everything. If this is your child this daycare is probably not for you. If your child is a little more active or curious, in other words, a little more "work", take note. He was this active child. (Note: he only attended 2 days a week) C& M told my daughter they needed to have him evaluated for ADHD when he was 2. My son-in-law took him to his pediatrician when they suggested there could be developmental issues. The pediatrician found him to be a busy 2-year-old. After turning 3, and after episodes of "undesirable" behavior, they again suggested 2 doctors. If they did not comply he could be expelled. They took him to one of the doctors, a pediatrician, and was told by this doctor he was "not impressed" with what he saw meaning he did not think he had ADHD, that he was typical of a boy at his age, albeit busier than most. They also were told a good evaluation couldn't be done until he was at least 4. His "undesirable behavior" continued, from trying to remove a screen from a window, trying to exit, ñthe classroom, and not always participating in class activities. Things got fast-tracked when near his 4th birthday he stopped napping. He had to sit quietly on his cot during nap time if he wasn't going to sleep.5 It was an issue because if he was out of his cot, one of the two teachers couldn't take a break as mandated by the state. His parents met with the owner and a behavioral specialist at the school, to come up with ideas to keep him occupied during nap time. This time C&M told his parents they had to take him to a child behavioral psychologist, again with the same explicit threat of expulsion. C&M provided the doctor/practice name and warned that they likely wouldn't get an appointment for 6 months. In the interim, my grandson had his 4-year well-child visit. My daughter told the pediatrician what had been going on. She asked my daughter which daycare he attended. My daughter was shocked to find out the pediatrician had considered sending her child there, but after having received so many behavior evaluation requests from parents whose children went there she decided against it. The parents then were told that C&M was not the place for my grandson, that they hadn't done what was recommended and failed to keep C&M up to date on what was being done. Note that my daughter had just delivered a new baby (they probably were a little busy, right?). They further accused my daughter and her husband of speaking badly of the daycare, but wouldn't say who accused them. They were shocked to hear this. Essentially they expelled him because his parents supposedly talked badly about them. Even though his parents kept the appointment with the psychologist the psychologist was bewildered as to why they were there as he did not specialize in ADHD but autism. His ruling: My grandson definitely is not autistic. He has some ADHD characteristics but at his young age it is difficult to diagnose. He can be re-evaluated when he is older, like 6. He now attends a Christian daycare and is doing very well. He is not labeld. They simply re-direct & work with him. He is at a place where children are not problems, but blessings. Update: after this review, my daughter received a letter from C&M's attorney threatening a lawsuit if I did not take it down within a week because of inaccuracies/misinformation. When asked for what inaccuracies/misinformation were in the review it has been over a month with no answer. They took very little time responding to my post but very slow in the follow up so I am going to assumew, after a month have still not heard., the letter was a tactic they used to handle a partly negative post.

I want to write this review because it's a hidden gem for kids birthday parties. Recently had my…read moresons's first birthday here and it was the perfect space for both kids and adults. There is a large room, divided in two. One side had tables set up, the other was free rein for kids to jump on a trampoline or bounce house along with many other toys. Something for all ages. We don't attend this daycare but it looks like a great place. The staff was nice and very helpful. Plates, silverware, napkins and tablecloths were all included.
