Warhammer World - One of the Dioramas

Warhammer World

As a big Warhammer fan this was a dream come true, I came all the way from the North East just to…read morestep inside. The second we stepped in staff were already kind and welcoming, helped with understanding rules to new games, advised on army expansion and were helpful on navigating the building. The dioramas were breathtaking a wide variety or factions and games from the Old World to Blood Bowl, Horus Heresy to 40k. Was a shame that I didn't bring my Army to play in the Game hall due to travelling by train yet that did not ruin my day at all. Bugmans was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING the food was better than meals in a Proper Restaurant. However the prices are a bit high, for example £17 for the Hunters Chicken Burger but the Price fits the value. Also to mention entry tickets were not that expensive, I think around £5 for Adult entry and £4ish for 12+. This was one of the best days out of my life. I will be returning and bringing freinds.

So, a little while ago I found that one of my boxed sets was missing a base, so I popped in to…read morewarhammer world and was told that this wasn't a problem. But, they didn't have any of the base in stock, so I had to sign up for their website, and pay for three bases, which took ten days to arrive. This was pretty awful but I was too confused and awkward to do anything except pay and wait. Then I went in last week because all of the flying bases for my gargoyles were fucked, they didn't fit my minis and the stems didn't even fit into their bases! The staff member I dealt with opened up a fresh box of gargoyles and then proved that the bases were also miscast, accused me of not being able to build toy soldiers and then, very sweetly, gave me the flying bases from the boxed set he just opened, which he had demonstrated were defective. So now I have twenty fucking useless flying stands where before I had ten. And gw flying stands are made of an incredibly brittle plastic that's a ball ache to shave and/or fit so ten extra stands that are also miscast is not a bonus! I'm not going back and I miss when gw had real customer service, I have no idea what I'm going to do with this unit of gargoyles that don't have the flying stands they need

This is a curious little shop - which advertises itself as a toy shop, but my eyes spied much more…read moreinteresting items in the shape of sewing paraphernalia adorning the entranceway! Yarn, needles, a few craft items are stocked here - but underneath you'll find a selection of vintage sewing and craft books for sale. I browsed this gleefully whilst my friend went and perved on the collectible toys at the back of the shop, and although I didn't buy any (I have a mild obsession with vintage craft books - and am trying desperately to wean myself off!) I was tempted by a couple, and may yet pop back in the hopes they're still there so I can get them as a present for my sew-a-holic mother. Good work, weird toy shop!

Indoor shopping malls/markets on local high streets are the best, you just never know what's going…read moreto be inside and what gems you may find. The shops inside the Plaza Mall are a bit odd as many shop units have two shops in one. Blue Crystal Collectables is no exception. To get to the toy fun you have to first navigate a tiny sewing shop, the juxtaposition of the two together is very odd when it's a sea of pastels and beige to a back drop of dark horror toy type fun. A lot of what they have on offer can be seen through the windows on the sides of the booth. If you are a toy geek missing that one toy from 10years ago but don't want to pay ebay prices then you may well find it here. The stock ranged from old 90's reboot Captain Scarlett toys to Buffy to Living Dead Dolls and the Masters of Horror toy line. Nothing was excessively priced but you did wonder where they found this diverse range of toys from and what car boots they were going to to stock their shelves. If anyone knows then let me know cause I want to go there now.
