I hired SC&R to paint, repair, and replace parts of the exterior of my house in November 2022. I…read morepaid a $10,000 deposit on what was to be around $30,000 of work. Workers showed up sporadically at an average of four times per month. Some months they were absent. There was no communication from the company, and when called I was promised the job would be finished in an unrealistically short timeframe. Most the time was spent sanding one section of siding with a harbor freight oscillating sander. The only section currently paintable was previously prepped with a heat gun, sanded, and given a coat of primer. That section was essentially a freebie compared to the rest of the work, but they milked it. Their understanding of paint prep was amature at best. I let them to it and was diplomatic, as slow paint prep and moving forward was better than nothing given I paid them what is alot of money to me. it is now May 2023. Both Josh and Holly have ghosted me. A very small section of siding has been patched in, I have a section of siding raw and exposed to the elements, new material rotting away as well as old growth siding thar was pulled that could be used for patching smaller sections piled up, rotting, hard to mow, and attracting snakes I understand that perhaps this job was too much to handle for this company, or not in tune with their skillset, but communication would have went a long way. I would have worked with them to scale back the work. I stated several times that the carpentry work was the priority for me, yet the carpentry crew only showed up for two days, and did a small fraction of the work. I was excited to have my exterior fixed up. I worked hard fixing up my porch, but realized my ailments as a disabled veteran would prevent me from doing the rest. What was to be a relief for me turned into fuel for depression.
