Yes, this is a meat market. No, I don't know anything about the quality of their meats. What I do…read moreknow is that this is the place for barbacoa and lengua. Probably some of the best in Eagle Pass and priced in par with other places but I would say the quality here is better. Lengua is $14.99 a pound. Yes, this might as well be gold bullion. I'm not joking. It's damn good. And worth every penny. Depending on how much you ask for, it may come sliced so make up the weight you want. When I stopped, I ordered a pound and got pretty much the entire tongue (makes for an awesome pic for those that don't eat or never eaten it). Barbacoa was $5.99 for mix and $9.99 for all meat (cheek). Both were really good and they typically drain it for you so you don't get a whole lot of grease. Barbacoa is only served on Sundays. Rain or shine. Year round. Find it!

My coworker went on and on about their famous bacon burgers and ripe avocados so much, that I just had to check the place out. It's a small establishment with several parking spaces outside. Inside you can find canned goods, drinks, vegetables and a meat department. The bacon burgers are to die for! I mean they are a bit expensive but definitely worth every penny! We asked around for those "always ripe avocados" and were given a pick from over 10 ripe avocados. Wow! It would have been a challenge to get those at any of the major grocery stores. I was only in Eagle Pass for work and I miss those burgers right about NOW :(

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!…read more I was born in Uvalde and I have been taking meat here since I was a kid. Its been over 5 years and so sad to see how bad it has gotten. Since the new ownership this place has gone completely downhill. They do not care about customer service at all. I dropped off a deer last season and the entire process through delivery has been a nightmare. Every single step has been a fight with up charges. Staff is rude and disrespectful. When you question an service or charge they get frustrated and mad and its basically take it or leave it attitude. 1. They charge you credit card service fees that are above industry standard. And even small local shops don't charge credit card fees. Accepting credit cards is part of business and its a shame. 2. Upon final billing they added $50 to cut the head off of my deer. If I knew that was going to be a charge I would have done it when I dropped it off. 3. Once the meat was ready they started calling me threatening storage charges right away. I live in Houston, Texas and they know that and the constant threats were unprofessional. 4. I tried to have it shipped to Houston and they would never give me a cost. And they were charging for every little thing. 5. After paying over $400 for processing this was one of the most expensive deer I have ever processed and I would never do business with them again. On top of all that... I now have the meat back and everything I got is just mediocre and not very good. MOUNT GRAVES TAXIDERMY... they recommended this company for my son first mount which is a simple European skull mount and Graves is just as terrible to deal with as Uvalde Meat Market.

I just had different South Texas deer that weighed 192 processed in San Antonio for a third of the cost. I am not a cheap I just don't like being advantage of. This better be some damn good meat. I will not be taking my deer here again.

You find it because you are meant to. Country Mart is as simple as it gets, and that is exactly where its charm lives. I was hungry off the road and ordered a chicken quesadilla, plain chicken with bacon and jalapeños. No frills, no funny business. Just trust. The lady with me went straight for the local Tuesday special, steak fingers. I did not get one myself, and I regret that. They came out looking fresh, homemade, and exactly how steak fingers should look. Golden, honest, and made by someone who knows what they are doing. Now, the quesadilla. Crispy, packed, and clearly made with intent. This was not some lazy throw-together. This thing had heart. It had purpose. It had soul. Every bite delivered exactly what you want when you order a quesadilla in a place like this. And the sweet tea. Mate, the sweet tea. Cold, strong, and perfect. The kind of tea that reminds you where you are and why you stopped. All in all, this was a very pleasant and completely unexpected turn. Country Mart is the kind of place you remember, the kind of place you come back to, and the kind of place that deserves all the attention it can get. I'll be back.

Prices are reasonable service is fast and the folks are very nice here. The smash burger is delicious. They ran some carne and elotes tacos they were fantastic couldn't help my self knocked out 6 of them. Another time they did a wild beef fried rice with beef egg rolls it was a little salty for me but, I'm sensitive on salt but still a great dish. Today I'm not excited for the beef kabobs. As for the menu follow them on Facebook it changes weekly. They have a nice seating area for larger groups and a play area. All the meat cooked is from the local farms just a few miles up the road. The store has the same fresh meats vacuum sealed and ready to take home. Along with skin care and other handmade items. Look forward to stopping every time I'm in town.
