At the scene, the other driver didnt have a copy of his rental agreement. He named two different rental companies that he thought it could be. I was so flustered after being hit, that while I got pictures, the plate number, and a copy of the other driver's license, I didn't think to get a contact number. I also didn't think to call the police because while the rear hatch on my Jeep was badly damaged, there was no damage to the vehicle that hit me. I felt shook up but didn't think I was injured. Boy was I wrong! The next day I felt horrible and was in a bit of pain. The day after that, the pain was enough for me to go to urgent care through my insurance. They recommended x-rays which I got through my insurance. I also made a bunch of calls and managed to locate the rental company who told me the other driver never told them he was involved in an accident. They gave me their insurance company's info. After several phonecalls to many different departments taking many hours, I finally found a claims adjuster. It was very clear this company was in the business of doing everything they could to NOT pay a penny let alone help in any way. They told me they couldn't do anything until they heard from the other driver. What an exhausting mess! (I wish I had gotten Shawn before I did any of that!) This is when I asked the question we all ask our friends and family in these types of situations: "Hey, do you know any good lawyers?" We ask that because there are a lot of bad ones out there. They recommended Shawn because he had just helped them by getting them medical help and a settlement as well. I got lucky, because Shawn isn't just a good attorney, Shawn is a GREAT attorney!
