Yesterday i saw the maintenance person flirting with an older colleague outside while she was doing something to the pumps he was taking a video of her. Im all for love, But in my eyes that is unprofessional and unpleasant to see. If i go somewhere i expect quality service! I thought i pulled up to a gas station not love corral. Its never good to have to colleagues dating working with each other it does not end well (speaking from experience). I hope my review helps in keeping the store running smoothly.

I was also able to locate the area where they had so many different grocery type items in drugstore supplies. I can see why travelers would want to stop here because anything you would need while on the road or at home is available at this location. The staff was customer service oriented and they smiled and asked where we were from. I did have a conversation with them and they indicated that they lived in Bakersfield. It's the closest big city. I also noticed on the map that there are many prisons in this area of the valley and so I assumed that a lot of families coming to visit their loved ones. Probably stop here. Nevertheless, the selection of beverages, snacks, toiletries, nice cashiers, and the clean restrooms was a good experience.

I was going to pay with my credit card at the pump station but it told me to see the cashier. So I went inside and prepaid with the cashier inside the store. He told me how to work the pump station because I prepaid. When I went back, I followed his instructions and it resetted the screen to show nothing. So I went back inside and had to wait for him because he disappeared to the back. He told me to use another pump station and going to a new pump station worked.

To make matters worse, I was incorrectly charged $25 for a supposedly missing washcloth. I did not take anything from the property. The washcloth had fallen behind the small trash can, and it appears housekeeping simply overlooked it and assumed it was missing. I should not have been charged based on that incorrect assumption. When I called to dispute the charge, I spent 49 minutes on the phone with a customer service agent, who repeatedly went back and forth without resolving the issue. Instead of correcting the erroneous charge, I was told to call back the following morning at 11:00 a.m. to speak with the manager. It was extremely frustrating to spend that much time on the phone only to have the issue remain unresolved. Based on this experience, I will never stay at the Lost Hills, CA property again. The poor condition of the property, lack of proper maintenance, pest issue, and handling of the billing error resulted in a very disappointing experience. When I did finally speak to the manager about the refund, he said he would take care of it. Then he immediately called me back and said I had to remove my "terrible" review and then he would refund the $25 erroneous charge. I said I would not remove the review and would just eat the erroneous charge. I will also be reporting the property to the health department and BBB.
