E-Z Masonry went far beyond my expectations in restoring the highly-deteriorated limestone walls in our basement. The layer of paint the previous owners had covered the walls with had peeled over the decades, leaving piles of loose cement and paint on the floor. I regularly shoveled them up, but that was never-ending. What amazed me is that, as E-Z was scraping off the remaining paint, they found areas where the cement holding the stones had also rotted, besides a plethora of loose and broken stones!
In addition, our dilapidated, old-fashioned basement windows and the wooden framing around them had been allowing spiders and critters to squeeze in, besides melting snow. E-Z sealed all the gaps outside, around the foundation of our house, immediately solving the critter and water situation. Later they removed the insufficient thin-glassed windows and surrounding rotted wood, and replaced them with new sturdy, energy-efficient glass block windows.
The crew even found an area near one window where the inside of the wall had collapsed! They'd been removing deteriorated cement between some loose stones, removed them--and found a HUGE empty space inside the wall, besides a rotted nest some critter had been living in. That area was completely rebuilt.
But that's not all! I swear the crew treated our basement with as much diligence as they would in their own homes. They felt cold air pouring in from a large area in another wall--which we had never noticed--and repaired that.
They even showed me a slow leak coming from the seals on our water meter pipe, so we could tighten them. (If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have known!)
A neighbor who had his basement wall restored years ago by E-Z Masonry recommended them to us. Thanks to him, and Kevin Ramirez and his crew, all of the walls in our basement are now completely secure, and they're mighty darn good looking, too! read more
