Karen was incredibly professional throughout the entire process. I'll admit that after my first road test, when I didn't pass, I felt frustrated by how strict the evaluation was. Looking back now, I realize that her standards come from a genuine commitment to keeping everyone safe on the road. Today, after years of continuing to practice and refusing to give up, I decided to take my test with Karen again. She was patient, kind, and understanding. She even waited outside in the rain for nearly 20 minutes while I searched for my paperwork without making me feel rushed. During the test, she gave clear instructions well in advance, making it easier to focus on driving safely and confidently. After the test, she took the time to write down areas where I could continue improving, even though I passed. I truly appreciated that extra effort because it showed that her goal isn't just to pass or fail people--it's to help them become safer, more confident drivers. Honestly, if I had passed the first time, I probably wouldn't have the perspective I have today. The experience taught me that sometimes we're not ready yet, and that's okay. I believe everything happens in its own time. Karen is willing to make the difficult decisions, even knowing some people may leave disappointed, because she'd rather face that frustration than approve someone who isn't yet ready to drive safely. That takes integrity, and I have a great deal of respect for her because of it. Thank you, Karen, for your professionalism, your patience, and your dedication to making Michigan's roads safer. read more

Charlie seems to only go easy on females while giving males a hard time when there new drivers! Didn't explain anything properly just said here and here and go next thing you know you failed even though I stopped right at the line and park perfect in the box. I asked for a different instructor he was great explained everything smooth had me on the road and licensed! read more

Charlie was totally awesome for my son's recent driving test. He was so nervous! Charlie was very professional and gave my son a positive training/testing experience. Charlie holds a high standard, but has a sense of humor to lighten the test experience. She if straightforward and fair. I learned a few things too! I would highly recommend Charlie for anyone's driver training or testing needs. Thank you Charlie! Molly and Vin : ) read more

She wasn't at the site on time, said I was late, and charged me a $60 late fee by tricking me by saying, "If you pay the fee, we can start your testing." So, I gave her the money thinking it was whatever. Then she walked off without a word. I waited outside for 20 mins, waiting for her to come back, then when she eventually did, she told me to come back another day. If I could rate this a zero, I would. I strongly recommend NOT going to this driver's ed instructor. Plus, she's condescending, so bupkis to this business. Edit: It's come to my attention that 1-star reviews aren't counted in the average, so 2 stars :) read more

My son and I had the privilege to have Charlie give him his test. She was extremely patient and kind to us. Even though he did not pass the first time she took the time with him to go over and explain what he needed to practice still. She was as much of a champion as I was for him. Yes she had to fail him on his test but what makes her great is that she took the time with him and was extremely kind when going about it. I truly appreciate her and the time she took from her day to help him through his test and make sure he learned how he can be a safer driver. THANK YOU CHARLIE!!! read more

My son is usually no bundle of nerves but, it was a bit different for his driver's license test...lol. Charlie was quick to put everyone in the car at ease. Warm personality, great sense of humor and not only does she know her job well but, she does it every bit as well. Every business needs a Charlie, for sure! ~ Tommy - Escanaba read more

I would like to say, I am quite satisfied with the knowledge and thorough explanation of tests prior to the start of parking and then prior to road test. of instructor. She also explained what and why I got something wrong. Charlie was respectful though professional. My biggest worry was the instructor was going to be harsh and intimidating. Thanking God it was a very organized and conversation/instructions were precise and clearly spoken. read more

It's ridiculous to say the least. More so, it's a scamming, money eating business I'm sure they're profiting well on. They take a 30 something year old and fail him because he went forward one too many times. NEVER hit a cone, had driven in his life, parked a vehicle in his life and backed into spaces in his life. Their reason: "you pulled forward one too many times when you didn't need to." EXCUSE ME! Have you ever watched people park at ALL experience levels??? Have you ever counted HOW many times someone/most EVERYONE has to pull forward and back before they get it??? Of course I understand YOU must be a top notch, A-1 perfect driver. However... not all human drivers are perfect. In fact, most could use testing throughout their lives at ALL ages. Myself included. I sat and watched as he took his test and thought he did damned well. Probably better than I would have and I'm in my 60's. How dare you take advantage of a persons ability to get to work to make the money you continuously want to charge over and over again. Must REALLY need the money. I may understand it more if it were a teenager taking their first test but, not an adult, with experience. Shameful!!! read more

Charlie was such a good tester. She was really easy to talk, supportive, and kind. I recommend her testing site 100%.

Charlie was my examiner and she was amazing. I had to test due to my license in another state being expired and I'm an experienced driver but not so book experienced per-say. She was very knowledgeable and upfront about what is expected. Her instructions were clear, precise and easily understood. She is firm but fair. Always professional and calm. I was nervous and having her in the vehicle was not as bad as I envisioned it could be. Very calming. Thank you Charlotte for your time! I absolutely recommended her for all your driving needs! On a side note, the other company who does this was very rude and unprofessional in my experience with the examiner from Iron mountain read more

This is the worst testing facility EVER! I took my husband there and it is supposed to be an hour...we paid 50 bucks and the woman failed him in 9 minutes on parallel parking even though i was watching with my own two eyes and it looked fine! I think the woman is a scammer and needed the money! She didnt even give him chance. Our appointment was for 8 a.m...she did paperwork for ten minutes and we were outta there by 8:19 a.m! Please do not bring anyone there for testing! A complete joke...also includes tried to give the review no stars but i guess you have to put something read more

I took my test with Charlie today and let me just say, it was way better and less stressful than I thought, she was really good at explaining the tasks and made sure you understood them before having you do them, and she made it as comfortable as she could. read more

interesting at best i had my children use this e k driver testing about 4 and 5 years ago they both failed the first time and was about automatically passed the second time around. I thought my kids were excellent drivers and were completely ready for the test but the older gentlemen kept telling them to accelerate hard to get going from stop lights and turn directly in front of people on road to basically cut them off. I am pretty sure we contacted the secretary of state over it but I cant remember ever hearing anything back about it. My husband and my main concern was we teach the children if you have to accelerate to hard like that then the person behind you has to hit there brakes and a lot of drivers does not pay attention to what's going on so if your car has any problem when you hit the gas that hard you just caused a accident for no reason. We looked into the manual the tester has to follow and found that he was doing the test somewhat by the book, but definitely tailored to his bad driving habits which we do not want our children to have. I am glad i found out about this e k thing on face book they must of really ticked some one off, when i saw it there was over 10,000 followers and one heck of a discussion on them lol. I will tell you all what I still tell my children there are a lot of bad business practices going on out there research it on internet be for you purchase service. this place would have a lot better rating from a whole lot of people if they just doubled there price and stopped failing the majority of kids the first time read more
