Gilchrist's is one of the many fine bakers in the Moortown area. I'm not sure if it has Jewish roots like many of the others, but it does some damn fine pastries and buns.
It's probably the most unique shop on the parade it's part of, and survives in an over-crowded bakery market in this area of Leeds because it's so good.
Equally good for savoury or sweet, its prices might seem a teeny bit steep at first, but once you sink your teeth into anything they have behind the counter, you'll find that is more than worth it.
