Needs more books and homeless people. DVD collection didn't include Jingle All The Way and the place feels off putting. One star.

South Madison Branch - Loved the artwork on the walls of this branch

During the 2013 Savor South Madison Taste Race, I spent quite a bit of time roaming the South Park…read moreStreet corridor and witnessed firsthand the renaissance the area is experiencing. The new Villager Mall, the South Side Clinic for the Access Community Health Center, the phoenix-like rebirth of Taqueria Guadalajara and the expansion of the St Mary's Hospital are all testaments to positive changes taking place in this neighborhood. In my opinion, the best example of the area's metamorphosis is the Goodman South Madison branch of the Madison Public Library system. With numerous meeting rooms, a children's section designed to stimulate interaction, original artwork covering the walls and a boatload of computer terminals, this new building serves as a community center in addition to its library duties. Every time I visit, it's buzzing with activity. I'm a fan of the reading area in the southwest corner of the building. With its fireplace, comfy chairs, a multitude of outlets to plug in your laptop and free wi-fi, it's a great place to drop in and get some work done. It's isolated from the rest of the library, so the activity in other sections of the building does not serve as a distraction to the patrons in this cozy little nook. As Pearl mentioned in her review, the staff members are always über-helpful. The only negative I can see if that the content selection at this branch is less than the Central Library and some of the other branches. However, with the use of LINKCAT, you can access media from 53 libraries that are members of the South Central Library System, so it's not that big of deal. And with more stores opening in the new Villager Mall, parking can be a challenge at times. If you haven't visited this library yet, I strongly encourage you to check it out.

This place is around to help you keep your home stabilized and fend off the bad/illicit weather…read moreeffects (e.g. heat loss, improper cooling et al). Located next to CarQuest off Stoughton down from Farm & Fleet. They provide weatherization for those in need (the elderly, affordable housing, etc) But what is that.... you make too much money and no one ever helps you??!?! NO fear... Project Home will take your questions, appear at your place or you come to them and they'll walk through a proper assessment of how to improve your place. Lower your heating bills. Lower your cooling bill. Fix the crack rubber sealant on the fridge door that you didn't think was a big deal but it is as it allows coolness to escape and doesn't properly keep your food. They also work on energy saving lights/appliances and all things to make your place more efficient. They will come to condo's and apartments. But for the apartments - you have to get the management to sign off on it and they'll visit all the apartments in the complex. They are offering weekly classes on Thursday in October 2012 at their office + Monroe Public Library. It's worth the call even if you don't own.

Took weeks at a time to call me back. Randomly would cancel appointments without letting me know…read more Showed up hours late. Broke lightbulbs in my bathroom and left the glass all over the place. Left loose insulation all over my closets. Called and complained about the lightbulbs and they offered to come by *the next day* to clean up the glass, because apparently people just leave glass all over their bathroom sink and floor for a whole day like it's no thing. Called about the insulation all over and still have yet to receive a response about getting it cleaned up.
