Brought my daughter here to grab a bite to eat before heading back to the hospital. When we walked…read morein I noticed it was trendy. I also noticed how filled it was with ladies, there were a few men, but it was primarily ladies & young children. So, I guess a local place to grab a snack or simple lunch.
When looking for a warm meal in Europe, you have to search, as most places, like Turf, are mostly sandwiches & snacks. Well, due to my daughter being overdue, she's hungry. Not in the mood for sandwiches, we opted to try their nachos. Mind you, this is two Texas women getting nachos. Pretty much set this place up to fail. We knew they wouldn't be able to do it properly, but we went in knowing this will be the EU version of nachos.
Nachos were nacho chips in a bowl with some cheese sprinkled over the top & maybe a sliced tomato cubed on the top, & served with a thimble size guacamole. (Remember, we are Texans.) we both giggled at the guacamole. Oh, & by "nacho chips," I mean they're were the generic style nacho flavoured chip.
It made me think of Taco Bell's Dorito taco. It was that kinda good. We both agreed that if the nachos back in Texas were made with flavoured chips, people would like them even more. Tasty!
The most annoying thing about the nachos though, was the belief that they used the 2nd half of a bag of chips. Yeaaahhh! We got the crumbles from the bottom. Normally, not a problem, but if I'm paying €7 for "nachos," I do not care for crumbles.
So, the chips were poured into a glass bowl, about 100 grams of cheese was sprinkled over the top, it was (obviously) then put in the oven. (Because I burned my knuckle while trying to dip a chip in the thimble.)
Okay, let's get to the guacamole. Because the size was literally a condiment container, you know one of those little paper cups you get when getting ketchup or something? Yeah! It was that size. See the photo.
Well, guacamole is hard to mess up. I mean it's smashed avocado, salt, pepper, tomatoes, & normally lemon or lime juice. Sure, you can add in other things, but this was as basic as you can get. It was decent guacamole. I only ate two chips "dipped" into it, as I wanted my pregnant daughter to eat it. Seriously, it was like an after thought, after a mediocre date. Not bad, just meh.
For drinks we had Coke. (My daughter's treat only when dining out, & only one.)
So, for €11 you can get some meh nachos & two Cokes.
Really, an okay place. Would I come back? Nah.
