While staff removed the charges when challenged, happening across three separate visits with three different servers points to a troubling pattern rather than a simple mistake. As loyal patrons who routinely brought visiting guests here, we emailed management weeks ago detailing this recurring issue. They couldn't be bothered to respond, acknowledge the billing discrepancies, or provide an explanation. Between the dishonest billing practices and absolute lack of customer care, I strongly advise anyone dining at Çiya to inspect their itemized receipt very carefully.

In terms of main dishes, I have two main favorites that I always end up with ordering both; Bedri Kebab (Kushleme) and Adana Kebab. I never had bad experience with the food here, but these two dishes are phenomenal. From side orders to traditional salads to the kebabs and lahmacun, everything you would order will be delicious and high quality ingredients. On top of all, the service staff are quick and attentive. Bedri Usta has a great garden underneath plane trees to enjoy a blissful Istanbul evening, no matter how hot it gets. Last but not least, don't forget to enjoy some Raki with your meal:) That ambiance and the exquisite food will make your trip worth it.

There was a cat going to the bathroom above our table on the rafters... very unsanitary. And the server had the balls to ask for a higher tip after we tipped him at (high) US standards. Total trash. The owner was there. Should have complained to him, but was just happy to get the hell out of there. If you're visiting from abroad, avoid this place. For the price, you could eat 3 other meals with 10x better service.
