The market is held in a beautiful old beaux arts structure that houses many sellers and restaurants. Three of us had lunch at the restaurant. Though the food was good our experience was not. My wife and I ordered a seafood plate priced on the menu at €16, with an indication that it was enough for a minimum of 2 persons, which we enjoyed with some wine. When the bill came, it included food that we had not ordered. When we pointed this out, they apologized saying it was actually someone else's bill and produced a "corrected" bill. In it they charged us €32 for the fish, instead of the €16 price indicated in the menu. The manager said that was because it was for two people, which of course was blatantly misleading. We had ordered one dish to be shared between two people, as the menu indicated. We argued this point, but to no avail. We paid and left, feeling that an otherwise enjoyable meal had been ruined by some abusive billing practices. While we were leaving I realized that in addition to presenting us with a bill that included food we had not ordered, then charging us twice for a single fish platter, they had also charged us for six glasses of wine instead of the five that we had. By this time we were defeated and deflated and did not bother to point out the final "error". While it is possible that all of these overcharges could have been honest mistakes, we felt that they were possibly caused by overly aggressive business practices. Luckily there are many other restaurants to enjoy in the market and in the surrounding area.
