This is for the acworth location - Regarding attempted assault from staff…read more On September 7th, I visited this facility due to severe back pain from a herniated disc. After a 10-hour car ride in excruciating pain, I came in hoping to receive relief in the form of muscle relaxers or a steroid injection. Unfortunately, I was told I could not be seen because of a $400 balance from a prior visit. This balance was the result of my insurance being billed incorrectly, as the facility had changed my insurance information without my knowledge. My husband, understandably upset after watching me suffer for hours, asked to speak with a supervisor but was told no. He did come across as aggravated, which I acknowledged, and I reassured him that it was not the staff's fault, it's their policy, and that I would resolve the billing issue so we could return the next day. At that point, he calmed down. Before leaving, he asked the front desk staff if they could print the last five invoices. Instead of assisting, the staff member snapped back, insisting he say "please" before helping. To demand that in front of me while I was visibly in severe pain felt unnecessary and unprofessional. My husband then said "please," though clearly frustrated. I spoke up, pointing out that he had asked nicely. The staff member responded, "I wasn't raised like that." When I repeated back & forth with him that my husband had not been rude, the staff member suddenly yelled, "B****, PLEASE." At that point, he jumped up from his chair aggressively, yelling and appearing as though he might come over the counter. His coworker immediately intervened and pulled him down the hallway as he continued cursing and shouting. Out of reaction, I reacted loudly in self-defense. Instead of addressing the staff member's behavior, another employee threatened to call the police on me. We contacted the police ourselves and filed a report. The facility filed a restraining order on us. I left the facility exhausted, still in severe pain, and shaken by what happened. While I admit we were not the easiest patients given the circumstances, we still didn't use derogatory language prior to attempted assault, we weren't overly aggressive just frustrated, nothing could possibly justify a medical staff member calling a patient derogatory names, shouting, and behaving aggressively. The fact that this conduct was not immediately addressed on-site is extremely concerning and unprofessional.

They did not run any tests, and no additional follow up was necessary. When I questioned the charges, I was told by their Customer Support Center that "the bill is what the bill is ma'am." They have refused to logically explain that I was diagnosed and billed correctly. My charges (with insurance) are well above the payment ban for self-pay! Billings even refused to back out the claim and allow me to self-pay; said it was Piedmont Policy not to do that. Piedmont Clinics obviously cares more about your money than they do about your actual care. They will fraudulently upcode you and make you pay for more than what they should.

Piedmont however charges DOUBLE what I would pay for an office visit with his doctor at WellStar and I walked out owing $264 because my deductible was not met. This was after insurance adjustments. Outrageous. And, when I called and asked to speak to someone at Piedmont about this, I was put on hold, then told I would receive a call back and never did. Next time I will drive the extra fifteen minutes to a WellStar Urgent Care and see a doctor.

We arrived at this facility at 11:30am there were 5 kids in front of us 3 were well and 2 were sick visits. It is now 2pm. I may as well took my baby to the emergency room. Altogether I was in and out of the urgent care facility within an hour.

NEGLIGENT, DISMISSIVE, AND RUDE! DO NOT COME HERE! These people do not care about your health only…read morehow much money they can squeeze out of you. I was seen 2 weeks ago for a sore throat, build up in the lungs, fever, and a cough. I expressed concerns of possible pneumonia. I was told I didn't need to be swabbed for anything, was given a Z-Pak, inhaler, mucinex, and was told if it didn't clear up to let them know for a possible xray/new medication. I received a follow up call a few days later and explained I still wasn't feeling well/had build up in the lungs and at my visit they recommended an xray/new medication if it doesn't clear. She told me a Z-Pak is in your system for 14 days and to wait longer. Fast forward to today...I'm feeling awful with tons of build up coming back in my lungs so I called. I explained I waited the two weeks as told and now am told it's been too long, there's nothing they can do, and I need to pay for another visit! This woman was so rude and dismissive. She questioned why I waited so long, questioned why I couldn't pay for another appointment, and told me they treated me for a sinus infection which is apparently my fault -because I'm the doctor right?? They will not cover the visit, will not point me in the direction of an xray as stated at my visit, and will not do anything over the phone. This office charges an INSANE amount of money per visit (usually I don't mind paying for convenience, but I'm not paying another $500 when Ive followed every direction given!!). I've given this clinic my business for years for not only myself, but my husband and two children. I've spent thousands of dollars with these people and to get this kind of treatment is unacceptable. We will NEVER be back and I will NEVER give piedmont my business ever again. UNACCEPTABLE!!!
