OK I shouldn't have been lazy and gone to my usual place in Central London instead of plumping for this local place. OK I shouldn't have assumed that a machine cut can't possibly go wrong. OK I admit that without my glasses during the haircut, I can't see well enough to notice if something is going wrong. OK I should have realised that machine cuts shouldn't take so long and that the barber was taking a very long time adjusting the cut with his scissors. Despite all the OKs, only 2 stars for making my number 6 look more like I've been scalped by Red indians!

No fuss, no coffee, no tea (I'm simply not in there that long) but you do get a lively line in friendly banter for the first and last few minutes, with the desired focus on your follicles in between. Also I find the opening hours really help when you work 45 minutes away and have a busy lifestyle/Saturday lie-in.

There was an extra barber chair when I walked in and they immediately sat me down with no wait time. I was surprised to feel so welcomed by them and no awkward feeling despite being a stranger. Even after giving only a vague idea of what I wanted, the barber immediately went to work. I can't remember his name because it wasn't one I had heard before but he ended up eventually settling in London after a long journey via the Netherlands as a war refugee from Iraq in the 90's. The haircut was quick and efficient, and they waxed my ears which was a strange experience, but overall I felt like I came to the right place. If I lived in the area I would definitely come again.

I've been given a lopsided skinfade and when cutting the top it was a hash job, just cutting anything in any direction without thought. I would have been better doing it myself. As I noticed from the customers before me, this places puts pressure on people to give five star reviews which for a first haircut, is extremely desperate. The barber also made the price of the haircut up for the customer before me and for myself, charging us a different number to what's on the price list. Sneaky all round. If you're going to push new customers to give a five star review then put five star effort in or you'll get more reviews like this.

Unlike some other 'barbers' they still know how to use a pair of scissors so they won't just clip your hair. A cut and a wash is a reasonable £15 or a dry cut is £12.50 and you get as much or as little conversation as you like thrown in for free. The only issue I had was when it came to them using the cut throat razor, having sensitive skin and thick stubble I asked for some shave cream to be used while going around the edges and doing my sideburns, but this was ignored leaving me with very painful and tender skin afterwards. Not the worst barbers you could come across and would recommend them if you are in a rush.
