Great service and high quality food.
SERVICE:
Service is very good here. I was asked three times by three different waiters if my order was taken because I wanted to keep the menu. They asked if my meal was ok and periodically checked up on me. I was probably the first person to arrive during dinner time, so that may have contributed to the good service. Before I ordered, the waiter asked me if I wanted any papadum. I first said no because I was on a budget, but then another waiter asked me the same thing. I gave in to their persistence and ordered it! Cost is £1 per papadum chip and £1 per chutney tray to dip it in. For the price and experience, I recommend trying it. Also, you can save the sauces for your entre.
FOOD:
I ordered the butter chicken here for £9.95 and a plate of plain rice for £2.75. Portion sizes were generous and the amount of chicken was satisfactory. Chicken meat was cooked on a skewer and was good. Unfortunately the gravy wasn't what I expected in butter chicken, but it was interesting. Of all the times I have had butter chicken, the gravy was tomato based and red. Their version tasted like it was coconut based and was yellow. The menu describes the recipe as "Chicken Tikka cooked with garlic, ginger, garam masala, and butter sauce". It had a very thick texture to it (possibly from the coconut?). I didn't really like it, but I can tell it's because it's an acquired taste. The quality of the meal is good and nothing about it was negative. It just wasn't for my pallet. I will definitely come back and try a different item next time I'm there.
After the meal, they gave me a piece of chocolate and two slices of oranges. Awesome.
