Derrick White and his team restored and built an addition on a 1939 lake cottage that was in great need of repair. Working with architect Roger Paley, they took great care in doubling the square footage without detracting from the house's original charm. Whenever possible Derrick re-used materials, such as the original beadboard, and purchased materials to match the old house. They were on time and on budget, and always kept me apprised of progress. His subcontractors were first rate--foundation, landscaping, plumbing, electric--and the carpentry and materials were of high quality. Derrick went out of his way to find good quality windows, flooring, and decking that were reasonably priced so we kept to my budget. They turned an old fishing camp into a modern, comfortable and custom made cottage full of charm.
