    We hired Erik for a large landscaping project that included completely re-sodding our yard,…read moreremoving trees and bushes, and repairing our sprinkler system. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely frustrating due to poor communication, lack of follow through, and incomplete work despite full payment. Throughout the project, Erik repeatedly told us he would come to our house on a certain day and then simply would not show up. Most of the time, we received no text or update, and he would often stop responding entirely for a week or more at a time. We have had to constantly follow up just to get basic communication. Before we hired him, he assured us that he would fix the sprinkler system as part of the project because he guaranteed the sod for 3 months. However, after most of the sod had already been installed, we still had entire sprinkler zones that were not functioning -- even after paying him to replace all the valves. It then took two weeks of repeated follow-up from us before he finally came back to inspect the issue. At that point, he told us our 30+ year old sprinkler wiring also needed to be replaced. Even though we had already paid him for a landscaping job that was still incomplete, he told us he could not afford to purchase the wiring materials himself and needed additional money upfront. We paid him half for the wiring work, and now, four weeks later, he still has not returned to complete the sprinkler repairs. In our opinion, the sod should never have been installed before the sprinkler system was fully functional. Additionally, the yard was not properly rolled after the sod installation, leaving the ground extremely uneven and bumpy. It has now been 8 weeks since roughly 75% of the project was completed, and the work is still unfinished despite numerous promises from Erik that he would return on specific dates. Many times he either does not show up or stops responding altogether. We understand delays can happen, but consistent communication, honesty, and follow-through are critical when customers have already paid significant amounts of money for unfinished work.

We've had what we thought was good business relationship. Unfortunately, we decided to cancel our business with them, which is something we really did not want to do. We bought our house new in 1987 and raised our daughter here. We've never had an irrigation system & since my wife is blind and I'm an old man, currently recovering from spinal fusion surgery, it's been a bit challenging watering our small, postage stamp yard. I asked Purple Care if they would give us an estimate for an irrigation system and, again, they were very accommodating. I later asked, via email, if they offered any senior or veteran discounts. There was bit of miscommunication initially, but that was all ironed out. I then told them that we would like to move forward with program. I received no response. I followed up with a second request to move forward with the project. Crickets. I then emailed them asking why they no longer wished to do business with us, CCing several associates within the organization. We were ghosted. I called Purple Care and said we no longer require their services, and when politely asked why, I stated that everything is documented in email correspondence, wished them a good day, said goodbye and hung up. We communicated the expected timeline, but before that timeframe elapsed, the company attempted one phone call and then charged us a $500 cancellation fee. We were disappointed by the lack of flexibility and communication during what was already a stressful situation.
