The main park in the suburb of Dutton Park is confusingly also known as Dutton Park. This has to be one of the best parks on the south side of Brisbane. Situated right up against the Brisbane river, this hilly part has wide expanses of green grass, plenty of trees, and a serene view of the Brisbane River and Green Bridge (officially known as Eleanor Schonell Bridge). Not only is this park beautiful but is sports BBQs, toilets, playgrounds and a half basketball court. There is plenty to do here on a lazy day, whether you are being sporty, social or just looking for a nice place to read a book. The one down side is that it is near impossible to find a park. Many of the parks are taken by commuters going across to the University of Queensland via the Green Bridge. Nonetheless, it is easy to get to via bus or train if you are not already walking distance. Dutton Park really is one of my favourite parks in the southern suburbs. read more
