Need to update since some new info recently came out...This school is the #1 rated Traditional High School in the entire state of Louisiana and is an A rated schools based on it's level of academics and commitment to same!! I'm proud this is the high school of my son!! read more

Staff is fantastic. Teachers are a hoot! I actually came to one of their Homecoming dances as a favor to my cuz. Cafeteria's huge! Three times as big as the one at my alma mater. I heard they get great marks as far as education goes too. One of the better schools in the state. read more

For the amount of taxes Ascension Parish residents pay, you would think that the keepers of DHS would keep it much cleaner. For a somewhat new school, ceiling tiles are absolutely filthy, the classrooms are filthy, the floors are disgusting. Whoever is in charge of the drama department needs to be fired. The trash on the stage, behind the stage and in the closet areas is ridiculous. The damage and trash left by students is obviously not addressed by those in charge. Kids are trashy, but the teachers and the administrators of this school need to open their eyes. read more

Yelp changed my business listing...this location as you can see from my photo is dedicated to…read moreResidency Verification and Truancy...the other part of the building houses Families In Need of Supervision (FINS) dealing with kids and families within the Ascension Parish School System... The location is the old site of the GW Carver Primary School which has been relocated to a new site/facilities... Anyway you have to stop into this place once a year to provide residency verification to show your kid is allowed to attend Ascension Parish schools...you'd be surprised at how many people that live out of Ascension Parish try and sneak their kids into Ascension schools... So the staff at RVTO are there to do verification as well as random checks throughout the school years on people suspected of gaming the system...if they catch you I've heard the consequences can be severe... That's pretty much all that can be said for this part of the school system...
